That 5th down call was only time my grandfather ever shut down his 8820 in the middle of a field for a non-equipment malfunction.

Not to be a dick, but his last name was Wilkerson.
A testament to his skills -- he made some horrible football compelling. No one, and I mean no one, could make a two yard pick up on 2nd and 9 sound as thrilling.

I would have liked to have seen his face when Winslow made his "steers and queers" comment during the 1993 game vs aTm. It was the only Mizzou related highlight during that 73-0 contest.

Heard him interviewed on 590 and his stories about his career and KMOX's Bob Hyland were epic.
Hard to belive at one time KMOX had Wilkerson, Jack Buck, Dan Kelly and Bob Costas all on staff.
A giant has fallen. RIP.

Making MU and Cardinal football better during the 80s. What higher compliment can you pay to a broadcaster.
Called my dad after Sat.'s game and asked him how much Wilkerson would have enjoyed calling it.
