The Iron Bowl wasn't played for 40+ years.

Budding rivalry? Dude we have been rivals for a long time due to proximity. We just didn't play alot against each other in the years before they joined the sec. I think we played them in the cotton bowl and that's it. We played them 1 time in a bowl game for like 15 years. We used to play then every year when I was a kid.

And you can't replace those memories with your natural rivals.

Texas vs Texas A&M
Alabama vs Auburn
Michigan vs Ohio St
UF vs UGA

Some of the great college rivalries. Texas and ATM started in 1894. They played every year between 1915-2012.

If it is such a far fetched idea, how about changing the words to that idiotic fight song?

Why? Is Texas going to change theirs? Is Alabama going to change theirs? When that happens, we can circle back to the war hymn

I wouldn't presume to lecture you on the Iron Bowl.

There is absolutely no way in hell Texas and Texas A&M ever play a regular season football game again. There are so many reasons.

Whether the rest of the SEC likes it or not, we are excited to play our SEC schedule this year. And when Auburn comes to College Station, 75% of the football audience in Texas, even in Austin will be watching.

Our fight song was composed by a US Marine while he stood guard on the front lines in Europe. It will not change.

Its not a rivalry to me because I dont give them a second thought. I dont really think of them as being in the conference.

LSU and Texas A&M should create the Sabine River Trophy for the winner to keep.
That way you can have something to play for like the Golden Boot.

Yes LSU has the upper hand right now but I can see it developing in the future.
Arky-Mizzou certainly makes sense in the current scheduling configuration.
Now everybody has an year end rival game.
UK-Louisville, UT-Vandy, FL-FL State, USCe-Clemson, UGA-Tech, Iron Bowl, Egg Bowl, along with newly named Sabine River game (Texas A&M-LSU) and the Arky-Missouri (Battle Line game? I think is what it is called.)

Going forward I like this set up. Makes for some great rivalry games at the end of November. These newbies will only get better.

I really like that A&M is in the SEC now.

It gives us something to look forward to and end on a a good note with after being disappointed by losses to Alabama and Arkansas.

Anyone remember when aggie "stole" chavis and only needed a top 50 D to run the table?

I would classify the group of talented young LB's Chief has recruited, including Anthony Hines, DaShaun White, and Tyrel Dodson as a damn salty group.

Anybody who thought Chief could turn that D on a dime doesn't know football.

LSU will keep kicking a&ms arse. It'd just going to happen, and yall will melt once again. Say what you want about chavis as dc, but he doesn't seem to haverify the talent that he had at LSU that got us to a national title game and won the sec, he just doesnt. LSU has more talent to work with than aggy, period. Even garrett got punked both times we played him under chavis. Get reday for 7 in a row this season bc it's happening.

How can there be an LSU - A&M rivalry? A&M hasn't beaten LSU once yet since it's been a member of the SEC.
