2016 National Championship ratings significantly down. Cause for concern?

I think the country has Alabama fatigue. I always assumed that a dynasty provides a good villain that would boost viewership. Will this become a trend? Is Alabama bad for a College Football?

according to SportsBusiness Daily. Alabama's A-Day spring game earned a 0.6 television rating on ESPN

I used to have Bama envy back in 2011-12, but they've won so much it doesn't even mean much anymore. So they win again, who cares?

Bama fans are just on cruise control.

Saban would not be pleased with me. As a fan, I'm not producing to a standard. I swoop in at kickoff, and start nodding in the 4th quarter.

I worked my arse off during the Dubose-Shula years, lucky hats, lucky shirts, no shaving on game days, any and all superstitions.

Now, I realize there's no need.

Eta. I just went back and clicked in the link. but my point still stands. Ive gotten lazy af.

Nobody cares? Go ahead and give us the trophy. Cancel the remainder of the season.

Funny thing is the other side of my family are all Bama folk and live in Mobile. I actually had them tell me verbatim that they think the current run Bama is on is bad overall for the sport. I was kind of surprised.

Except that Alabama usually has 5 of the top 10 most-watched games every year. Soooooo.

I switched out my lucky shirt for the game yesterday. It had been with me since 2008. I almost didn't do it, but at the last minute said "no way Auburn beats us". It was a good break-in.

Most of the time when folks do this, they are being nice. Trying to make you feel better.

NO ALABAMA FAN would trade anything that is happening right now. I can absolutely promise you that we aren't sitting around discussing if this bad for football. Contrary, we are talking about we have monopolized the game and the power that brings us. We love what is happening. If everybody else suffers, fine. I'm a fan of Alabama. Don't care if it drops TV ratings. That's for network execs to worry about. When I go to work for ESPN I'll care.

I think Bama's conference opponents sucking is bad for the sport. People want to see competitive games.
