I think the Tennessee game is a good comparison to how this game might go, a team with a high powered offense and elite QB, but a weak defense. Unlike Ohio State who was able to jump out in front early on, Tennessee wasn’t able to and because of that the defense was able to worry more about pressuring Hooker which caused him to be off all day. Also meant that the offense could slow way down and just gash the Vols defense to death while killing the clock with the run game. Ohio State was not able to slow our run game down, but they had the advantage of being out in front and forcing us to pass all game unlike the Vols.

I’m going to say this game will be decided on how the first half goes, if it starts out like the Tennesse game then Georgia wins something like 31-17 or something. If they can exploit our secondary then we got another track meet

I’m feeling pretty good about this one. Feels like the natty was played a week ago.

Wondering if they go full Boise State or play us straight up.

Hoping officials are less part of game.

We don’t need to leave points on table like last week.

They're obviously a good team, or else they wouldn't have made it this far, but Michigan handed them the entire game last Saturday.

Two pick 6's, not cashing in at the goal line on the 1st drive, and the fumble after that touchdown pass was ruled down at the 1.

That's a 28 point swing in a game TCU ended up winning by 6, and Michigan hung 39 on them in the 2nd half alone. Michigan should have won that game running away, but just shot themselves in the foot. They could have won it at the end, too, if they just knew how to shotgun snap a ball.

I hope you are right. After 42 years of watching the Dawgs, I need a drama-less NC game. The TN game kind of shocked me at how effectively we shut them down. We should beat TCU handily. If TCU wins it will be kind of like the 84-85 Villanova-Georgetown basketball game where Villanova was just destined to win the game against a Georgetown team that was considered one of the best all-time teams and perched to repeat as champions.

The fact that everyone feels good about it makes me not feel good about it.

Michigan’s main problem was fricking up early on and letting TCU open up to a 21-6 even then Michigan nearly won the game after two big come backs. With Michigan being a lesser version of us with less depth it’s going to take TCU playing out their mind of Stetson melting down for us to lose. I’m not saying TCU can’t win because they’re very good and extremely experienced however part of their win came from Michigan shooting themselves in the foot something we don’t do much. Funny enough I actually see Ohio State as a better version of TCU although Duggan might still be better than Stroud but Duggan was not great in their semifinal game

I see Duggan as a better runner than Stroud, since Stroud usually refused to use his legs in games until he played us, but Stroud is the better passer

What we think has no bearing on the outcome of the game.

You would think after last January the "waiting for the other shoe to drop" mentality would of died but alas, here we are.

I agree that, from what I’ve seen, Duggan is the better runner. Seems like we didn’t make containing Stroud part of our defensive game plan and that hurt in the 2nd half. What he really excelled at was throwing on the run. His semi boot legs and scrambling stressed our defense and made it hard to get pressure. At the same time, he was really accurate on the run.

From what I’ve seen, Duggan is a better runner but not as good at throwing on the run. If we get pressure and/or contain him, I don’t think he will be able to pick our defense apart like Stroud did.

Anything can happen, but the only two teams I was worried about playing before Selection Sunday were Alabama and Ohio State. TCU is quick and scrappy, but so are we, and we also have a lot more talent.

This.
Our recruiting advantage might very well win the day but TCU has a very fast team that is playing extremely well within their coaches' system.
I'm expecting another close game that might be determined by turnovers and mistakes in general.

I think TCU overdrew their talent to win against Michigan. Conversely, I think we just pulled enough out of our account to get the W. If both teams regress to their mean, TCU goes down by 21+.

Now we just need our young men on the field to make good on it, because God forbid we were to lose, it would be portrayed as the biggest upset in the history of modern sports and we'd NEVER hear the end of it.

Do you think Kirby has been preaching that to the team? Or has it snuck into their minds that they are tcu and should lose by a lot? That’s a very dangerous way to go into a game.

What would Kirby’s message be?
