Mizzou could be better than people expect next year. Yes, the better players are young, especially on offense...but there is plenty of talent from the last 2 classes. To be honest, I think our Qb situation is better this year, Bazelak was bad (and injured most of last year). Losing Badie is tough, but nobody expected Badie to put up the numbers he did either. Our D looks improved on paper.....we had some sneaky good pickups from transfers on defense and we return some good players on D.

AU needs to win the Mizzou game in order to gain momentum and have chance for a successful season. If they lose that one might as well just fire Harsin then because they are likely heading toward a losing season.

When Mizzou beat LSU How come Ed Orgeron wasn't fired that season? Harsin will not be fired for losing to Mizzou! Why are people think Mizzou will be very bad this year?

What are your expectations for Mizzou? 8-4 would be considered a strong season? The first 5 games at home for AU will be pivotal and Mizzou at home is one of the more winnable games on their schedule (considering who they have to play after that stretch). I would put that game behind the following:
at UGA
vs. OM
vs. LSU
vs. TAM
at Bama
Also, ARK and MSU will not be easy and both will be just as good as Mizzou. If they lose Mizzou game especially after losing to PSU then they are likely heading for a losing season and Harsin will be canned.

Schedule is a little tougher this year. Team should also be a little better.
6-7 wins I think is the target- the More I look at the schedule, the more I see 7
We have 4 wins locked up.
@UF, @USC, UK and and Arkansas are all toss ups as of today - Maybe add Auburn in that.
Our toughest might be @ Kstate, UGA, and @ Tennessee

The inherent flaw in the whole "coach em up" thing is that in the SEC the guys signing classes full of 4/5* kids are also coaching em up. You absolutely have to recruit at a high level and then develop those recruits into NFL caliber players to win the SEC.

Hell, two of their DL from last year are with Mizzou now.
As for the reliable QB part, I think every team can just about say that (especially Mizzou). There's a distinct possibility that our starting QB for next year isn't on the roster yet, and I'm not talking about Sam Horn coming in and starting as a true freshman. JT Daniels is a possibility if no one steps up in spring ball.

If he can meet expectations he will be good until these big money pinheads make you new expectations that he can’t perform or he will not know about them.

Drink has said if he doesn't like what he see's in spring ball, we'll add another QB. And I believe Daniels is likely to still be available at that time.
While young, this will be the best receiving core since 2014, maybe even 2013.
Secondary should be strong.
DL and LB's should be better.
OL should be the same.
