Told Kelly "Congratulations on finding your fairy godmother" and basically asked if he felt bad about leaving the way he did and if it'd affect his legacy.

I'm sure their was a fist fight to be the person sent from South Bend to BR in early December.

I mean is there a better way to do it? A job you want has come calling:
-If you put them on hold, they’ll find someone else
-If you try and keep it a secret, it’ll 100% be leaked anyway
-If by some miracle you taking the job is kept a secret, you still look like an a-hole for leading players and recruits on. Also people blame you for any bowl or playoff loss

They mad......and arrogant and shocked that anyone would leave notre damn. They need to be very careful or they could start sliding down and end up like other perennial programs such as texass, miami and nebraska. Its not like they were all that great anyway but being arrogant about not being in a conference and above all that will cost you. Believe it or not at one point they thought they were too good to play in bowl games.

A local Memphis station did something like this at Calipari's opening press conference at Kentucky. It was pretty embarrassing for us, at least i thought it was.

Think their mad now watch and see if Cincinnati, Oklahoma State and alabam all lose and they get left out because he left early.
I think Saban was correct early signing period needs to be in July/August. It’s essentially puts everyone in a bind. The team hiring, the team losing their coach and the players who are caught off guard two weeks before signing day.
