In your head, how should it go? Should he have catered the event? Present a slide show?

How long should it take. Most are probably upset, and at least he was man enough to meet them face to face even after the news broke out.

Notre Dame is trash. No one really WANTS to be there save those that grew up ND fans their whole lives (somehow).

ND players aren’t upset about Kelly leaving at all.

They just don’t want to lose Marcus Freeman.

So is he supposed to hold a counseling session with each player?

10 minutes? That’s a gracious plenty IMO.
Some coaches don’t even do a face to face with their players.

I'm wondering if something is going on up in South Bend. He did seem pretty willing to get the hell out of Notre Dame.

Maybe LSU was in the right place at the right time.

These kids are elite athletes, smart as hell and understand the value of their time. You think they wanted to listen to a coach who is no longer their head coach. It is a business to them just as it is to their coach. Additionally, they are a team with a serious goal to achieve this year. You think they wanted to listen to him for an hour?

Not sure it's the best hire but how is what he did any different than every coach in America every year? Why all the backlash?

I'd be so pissed if they asked me to a 7am meeting only for it to last 10 minutes

I have no love for lsu or notre dame but seriously, what was Brian Kelly supposed to do? He met with them face to face. He didn't leave in the middle of the night. He didn't spray paint "I'm outta of this hell hole" in the players lounge or anything. I think the players probably understood that he is gonna make millions of dollars and they would do the same thing given a similar opportunity. Is there some type of coach leaving etiquette the rest of us don't know about that he should have followed?
