Hate when people say this. A coach is hired to win games, not be your pastor.

It appears that you are misinterpreting my post.

I have no objections to hiring an HC 'to win games, not be your pastor'. In fact I found Chiz and Gustav's whole 'its a God thing' approach cringeworthy.

My point was, if it was all about winning, then hire Urban Meyer. He is a proven winner, his foray into the NFL notwithstanding. The guy has turned around three programs (Utah/UF/tOSU). Sure, he condoned murderers and malcontents, and left both of his P5 programs to deal with the aftermath of his questionable ethics, but he won NCs, and if that's all that matters, then have at it.

I would prefer we hire someone who does things the right way, and builds a program through positive recruiting, excellent player evaluation, and competent roster management and development, while representing AU with class (and maybe a little humor). I had hopes that Harsin was that guy, but it appears that he probably isn't.

But again, if you want someone to win big and don't really give a damn about how it reflects on AU, then at least hire someone who can deliver. Brother Hugh sure as hell isn't that guy.

How bout we stop talking about hiring another HC in the middle of this BS? We aren't in a position to do that.

2020 was rough because of turnover in players.

Now look at your comment describing Baylor

quote:

The Baylor program was pretty much in shambles when he took it.

And that is very inaccurate was the point. Baylor was not in a shambles when Aranda arrived. Ruhle definitely cleaned it up after the Briles debacle is the point. Aranda just needed to install his processes.

But are you saying that players left after Aranda arrived? Transferred? Graduated?

Some, but I think it was Aranda putting in his system, also adding Jeff Grimes for 2021 was a big move. Baylor was not in a shambles though.

Bottom line is that we are not going to have a top 50 program if the trajectory of AUFB continues in this same direction. We have regressed even further than one could have imagined in 1 years time. The bleeding has to stop or the program is going to become a 5 year bottom dweller.

And this is entirely Harsins fault? Come on

I didn’t realize this was a thing? Professed Christians yes, holier than thou, I didn’t sense it. Cringeworthy? Based on what?

Who else does the buck stop with for all the turnover, recruiting misses, and a complete collapse the last 6 games if not Harsin?

I hated Gus and am glad he is gone but want Harsin out worse. He is a complete joke and has us on our way to being the same.

Every player and coach that leaves it is their problem but as the pile grows it is becoming harder and harder to believe it isn't Harsin.

Bottom line Harsin and anyone with Harsin's stink on them needs to go up to and including ADAG. With Greene first

I read Davis was caught with a dead hooker and had a good sized bag of the sniffy stuff in his pocket. I am looking for a second source as we speak.

You joke (I think) but when something like this happens, with the old stand-by explanation of “spending more time with family”, what that translates to 99% of the time is scandal and a pissed off wife or girlfriend.

Hell, my son heard the rumor yesterday that it involved Davis and Harsin’s thicc, blonde daughter. Whether that is true or not, its more likely to be SCANDAL over any other explanation considering the way this went down.

Harsin is HC... can’t blame anyone else besides boosters not buying players or AG hiring someone from outside that wasn’t ready for the job

You can blame what he was walking into. He's the coach so the responsibility is his, but you people act like we were supposed to win 10 games this year with a new staff

If 20 years of reading AU boards serve me correctly the tea leaves are easily decipherable.... lots of under current ... losing games in year one isn’t unacceptable, profusely bleeding talent, having high turnover in the staff and lack luster recruiting isn’t tolerable. We will be worse next fall and that isn’t making progress at an acceptable rate.

People like you are a big part of our problem right now, I;m starting to agree with Jang AU has a fan problem. Nobody turns on their coach after one year but an idiot. Give the man three years and if he can't cut it then you let him go. In case you didn;t notice we didn't exactly have the cream of the coaching crop beating down our door after we fired Gus, think it would be better after firing the new guy this quickly?

I’m so confused right now. Should Harsin go or shouldn’t he. Thanks for seeing my point regarding fans that lost their marbles with Bo .
