LSU will get fricked over
. Probably but it can’t get any worse than being in the west and having Florida’s as our permanent opponent. I will take my chances.

SEC Championship:

1. Best record
2. Head to head
3. Highest-ranked

It should be simple.

Cotton Pod
Arkansas
Mizzou
Oklahoma
tu

Magnolia Pod
LSU
Ole Miss
Texas A&M
Vanderbilt

Dixie Pod
Alabama
Kentucky
Mississippi State
Tennessee

Peach Pod
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
South Carolina

Permanent Cross Pod rivals
Texas A&M - tu
Ole Miss - State
Tennessee- Vanderbilt
Alabama - Auburn

The other 8 rotate. If you don’t want to rotate them you can also assign them a permanent rival so they are guaranteed closer games and 4 known opponents every year or to balance things for the Peach Pod that will bitch about have 3 power programs.

Possible but unnecessary Permanent Cross Pod rivals:
Arkansas - LSU(also likely to be in the first group or required ones)
Oklahoma - Florida
Georgia - Missouri
South Carolina - Kentucky

Possibilities for permanent secondary game when cross pod rivalry is in division:
LSU - Alabama
Tennessee - Georgia
Arkansas - Ole Miss

Year 1
Division A: Cotton + Magnolia
Division B: Dixie + Peach

Year 2
Division A: Cotton + Dixie
Division B: Magnolia + Peach

Year 3
Division A: Cotton + Peach
Division B: Dixie + Magnolia

You can stay at 8 games.
You can still have two division champs for a championship game so you don’t have to have ranks and committees decide the best teams it’s simply the division champs that have played a round robin.
You can maintain all the necessary rivalries.
The pods are balanced.
You play everyone in 3 years.

This is the only proposal I’ve seen that accomplishes all those things. I’m shocked this hasn’t been agreed to already.

There will be ties

There will be 3 way ties like the year OU, Texas Tech, and UT all went 11-1 with wins against each other

quote:

3. Highest-ranked

Swap A&M and Arkansas. No way they don’t put UT and A&M in the same pod.

Make that entire pod all former Big 12 schools.

I want to see the A&M UT rivalry renewed. I also don’t like this “manufactured” rivalry between LSU and A&M. We have our rivals, A&M isn’t one of them.

Put four teams I a pod. You play one permanent from each of the other pods. Then for the other 3 games you play the other teams in one pod. Rotate pods each year. You play each team in the other pods once every 3 years. It’s better than what we currently have plus it keeps current rivalries alive. Take LSU for example
Pod of LSU, ole miss, state and A&m
Pod of Arkansas, ou, Texas and Missouri
Pod of Bama, Tennessee, Auburn and Vandy
Pod of uga, Florida, USCE and Kentucky
These pods are pretty even with two powers in each pod with the exception of the Bama one but they have Vandy
Permanents from other pods are Arkansas, Florida and Alabama. If for some reason they gave miss st Alabama, give us Auburn.
