Awful lot of hub bub about a guy who gets blasted nearly every time he plays a team with comparable talent

I'll match your inside source & raise you 10 from here in La. Point being, inside sources are useless, from trolls to idiots whose grandmother once slept with a former BOS 10 yrs ago.

Sounds good. You really think he is going to take the job Keltic Tiger?

Not sure how I feel about this but looks like he is not interested. Listened to local insider on radio here in OKC. Not going to happen. Now you LSU fans can bash him to oblivion.
Kind of hard to see Riley making this jump with OU getting ready to join the league.
Makes me wonder whether Woodward let this float to prepare the fans for, "well, we tried to get those guys but they just wouldn't leave."

Why go to a place with actual expectations?
This is the ONLY pitfall to the LSU job. It’s also the only downfall to LSU baseball job as well. I expect Bama will be facing the same problem post Saban era as well.

well, rumors that start on a rodeo clown's tweeter account are worse than an inside source.

100% sure Riley stays at OU.

Replacing Saban is damned near impossible

I don't know why, but this gets me every time. My son's buddy just did this. He mustered up the nerve to ask a girl out, was rejected, and has since been telling all his friends that he was never really interested in the girl.

The numbers going around are 8 years at $12.5 per. It's been a while since I was in Mr Babineaux's mat class at good old Garfield Elementary bit I think that comes in at about a total value of $100,000,000 total value. This offer was made before the tucker/msu numbers were announced.

The stress of the non-offer must have been unbearable.
Lets get this straight. All kinds of media sources report that several coaches were targeted by LSU. Now, we know that media sources are not always accurate. That is not even debateable.
LSU fans deny offers were made to Tucker, Fisher or Riley.
In fact many LSU fans seem to think if LSU makes an offer then it is a given that the coach will happily go to LSU.
All that said....are we to believe that Ed Orgeron was LSU's first and only offer that went out? Orgeron was the man LSU wanted all along?
Does that make LSU fans a little nervous about this search? Will their AD offer another Ed Orgeron to be their coach while not offering Fisher, Riley and Tucker?
If I am misunderstanding this, please tell me which coach/coaches LSU has offered in the last coaching search and/or this one.

Different AD so hard to compare the two.

Schools always get the coach they offer. All of the others were never offered.

That's fair. But many LSU fans claim Woodward would not even consider Fisher, yet he already hired Fisher once, hasn't he?
Not really. Seems like the same talking points, so it would appear as if things are pretty much runnig the same.
But let's go with your belief.
Has LSU offered a coach yet?

So it would seem.
Honestly, though, it does work that way sometimes. I mean, Riley was probably Oklahoma's first choice. Kirby Smart was definitely Georgia's first choice. So it happens.
I just think, as a whole, when there is a lot of outlets/sources etc reporting offers being made that probably offers ARE being made.

I'm sure he definitely considered him, that's just common sense, how far that consideration went is a mystery though.
Likely depends on who you ask.
FWIW, I don't think Jimbo is the right coach for LSU and he'd be foolish to leave what is a very good situation for him at A&M.

I don't think anyone knows the answer to this. Too much misinformation swirling around this search, much like the baseball search earlier this year.
You may recall, at one point, multiple media outlets were reporting that Mike Bianco to LSU was a done deal.
I don't think anyone knows what's going on.

Ole Miss baseball coach.
I was just relating it to the baseball coach as multiple "insiders" and media outlets were all over the place.
