How was this guy not a 5star? He’s by far the most talented TE Georgia has ever had on its roster and what’s crazy is Darnell Washington is probably every bit as talented and when both play our offense can be deadly.
Gone is the narrative that UGA doesn’t use it’s Tight Ends

He is special. Blocks great and creates huge mismatches on coverage.

Nakobe a semi finalist for the Butkus as well.
And I think he wasn’t a 5 star because he played in Napa
Plus ranking kids out of Cali last year was tougher than ever w no high school season and limited camps. Very possible he would have jumped in the rankings.

I meant Butkus. Saw the semi finalist awards came out today for that as well. Honestly think Quay and Tindall should be on it as well, but oh well.

Washington looks like he is running in quicksand compared to Bowers. Maybe just the difference in stride but Bowers looks a lot faster.

I loved Zeus' long TD run where Brock pulled and got the crucial downfield blocks. I've never seen a better college tight end. Bowers is big, fast, has great hands and can high point the ball. Unstoppable.

There were no 5 star tight ends last year, at least per the composites. Bowers was a high 4-star and rated #3 among tight ends nationally.
The supposed #1 guy went to Clemson and he's played in three games and made one catch. The supposed #2 guy went to Nebraska and is headed for a redshirt.
Meanwhile, Bowers has a team-leading 26 catches in 8 games.
Note that Smart has said Bowers attains GPS times equal or better than all except our two or three fastest WRs. In fact, during one early season catch and run, he clocked the second fasted GPS time among all players in college football that weekend.
Basically, this guy is a 6-4, 230 pound WR who can block, catch, and run.
The fact that we have Bowers AND Washington and can put them on the field together is a nightmare for opponents.
Incidentally, Washington was a 5-star composite, which is fairly unusual for TEs. Not surprising...being 6-7, 268 and running like he can. He was the #2 Athlete nationally in his recruiting year.
