He's not going to coach in college again anyway, that's why he needs the money. Hell he can't get a job selling hotdogs at Bryant Denny.
I believe he is with the NY Giants as a defensive analyst at the moment

Granted this comes from the article's interpretation of his statement, but this sentence really jumped out in that regard:
The Lyons’ letter made no attempt to defend Pruitt, but instead threatened a lawsuit that would aim to embarrass the university
I would imagine his play is going to be to claim that someone in the AD (most likely Fulmer) was running the whole thing, it spanned across all sports, and he was forced to keep his mouth shut.
Even if every bit of that is true, he still has to prove it and I can't imagine Tennessee going this long without writing a check if they thought Pruitt possessed those kind of goods.
Also, Pruitt must think his career is already over because after this with the possible exception of the Saban rehab clinic nobody at the P5 or high G5 level is going to touch him.
He better get a check because he just opted for the Mike Dubose career path.

You've been all over this story for months, Harry!

Besides that sweet nfl gig.
His golf game and attending Yankee games will take a huge hit if he goes back to CFB

So Dereck Dooley was able to find an on field staff position and Pruitt is doing basically what Joe Brady did with the Saints as a 25 year old. Ouch

I, for one, cannot wait until Fulmer is on the stand and is asked, under oath, "What did you mean when you said 'recruiting is going really good,' at a press conference announcing the firing of my client for alleged recruiting violations?"

Fulmer was fired too, though, (as well as a purge of many others in the ADs office) so I just don’t think this play makes a ton of sense.

An internal investigation found multiple impermissible benefits resulting in threatening the eligibility of multiple UT student athletes. The university fired with cause a dozen staff including on the field staff that were hired by and directly report to Pruitt.
Pruitt chose to ignore the findings, ignore the advice of the AD and played multiple players he was told to hold out due to the investigation. He was fired for violating the terms of his contract.
Pretty open and shut case.

Lyons made several broad assertions in his letter to UT that are not supported with details
Are we sure “Michael Lyons” isn’t just Sidney Powell wearing a wig?

Maybe he thinks Fulmer will collaborate his claims. He is an idiot after all.

I’ll tell you why he’s pissed. Fulmer chose the option of taking a settled buyout to walk away, Pruitt didn’t. Fulmer got paid, Pruitt didn’t.

Oh I agree, but it's the only play I see. Rogue booster network giving benefits pre-NIL just ain't going to cut it. Everyone serious about football in the SEC (meaning all but Vandy) had those on some level.

Sounds like blackmail to me, also doesn't really refute that he provided cause for his firing. The "well they did it too" defense is never a good one. If I'm his lawyer, I'm probably not going to be releasing my blackmail attempts to the media, but I guess it's his law license on the line
If the lawyer is out of line, that doesn't mean Jeremy is out of line.
If Jeremy needs to fire that lawyer for being a dumbass, then the next attorney has some nice homework falling in his lap.
And again, UT has basically done the same thing to Jeremy you're accusing Jeremy's lawyer of. There's an obvious whitewash of details in the Tennessee media and it's coming up on a year that UT has refused to provide details to anything. That could be interpreted as a form of blackmail toward Jeremy.
Like...go away quietly or we embarrass the hell out of you and ruin your career type shite.

Really?
What were the specific violations?

That could also be interpreted as not violating the privacy rights of any student athletes that could be harmed if something is revealed.
