I'm not convinced that wasn't an anomaly. He needs to keep improving and not regress. We went through this with Mond. 1 step forward, 2 steps back.

Check my post after the Colorado game. Agreed though, a lot of Aggies thought he sucked.

Kid stepped up into a difficult position and has steadily improved.

Good for him. Let's see if he can keep it up.

Waay to early to say that about any QB. He just got outdueled by Matt Corral.

I thought he sucked because his mind didn't seem capable of processing what was in front of him fast enough. We all knew he had the arm and would develop better accuracy with more reps. For him to be where he is after only his 4th start is pretty remarkable. We'll see if it holds up.

I definitely thought he sucked. Going to need to see some more consistency before changing my mind. He reminds me of Mond

Here's a very interesting thing about Calzada.

Completion percentage over the season.

Game 1 (Kent State): 0% (0/1)
Game 2 (Colorado): 47.4% (18/38)
Game 3 (New Mexico): 57.6% (19/33)
Game 4 (Arkansas): 55.6% (20/36)
Game 5 (Mississippi State): 60.0% (12/20)
Game 6 (Alabama): 67.7% (21/31)

Notice a trend?

I believe you about the Colorado game, but even the biggest red arse ags were admitting he sucked after the last 2 games before Bama.

And he did suck. Gotta credit Jimbo and of course Calzada with turning it around. I was astounded at the difference.

A few weeks ago I was defending him and saying your O Line was the problem. They gave him time to their against Bama and he played great.

He looked the part against Bama. For years now the only teams that beat Bama take their chances in tight windows. It was surprising how many busted coverages Bama had, but nevertheless, the game came down to a few Calzada fastballs that had to be inch-perfect. He stood tall and delivered.

Spiller doesn’t get enough credit. When he went out, Bama’s D held them to a couple of 3 and outs if I remember correctly. Comes back in, they drive and win.
