I have to give it up to Calzada, it seems his whole mentality switched, maybe the light came on, bc his but first 2 starts, he was quiet, kept to himself, vs Bama, he was engaged, finally accepting he also needs to be a leader, was talking his OL/WR groups, hype helps, I’m glad he feels comfortable now, I tend to not like my QB being quiet or a loner

I will say, he throws a pretty fade, reminds me of that Aaron Murray Georgia QB , can’t remember what year that was he played, but he threw a pretty back shoulder fade too

I mean if it's good enough for OBJ and the poo poo princess it should be good enough for him.

He wasn’t just hitting wide open guys on busted coverage. He hit some darts into tight coverage several times as well. He also displayed a nice touch with tall arc on longer trajectories. His mechanics are coming together and he is learning to use his arm strength with more control. I was perhaps overly critical of him early on.

One thing he has done wrong is read the hater talk. Talk around the water cooler is he is seeing all the shite people talk about him. That can do a number on someone psychologically. Especially when he went out to hand out breakfast to people camping out for tickets before the Alabama game and his own fans were rude. I don’t care what you say. That’s not cool. You can be displeased with his early production on the field but it’s no reason to treat another person like shite.

He did appear to flip a switch last Saturday and some mechanical things just started to make more sense I guess. And it wasn’t because he had all day in the pocket to throw flat footed.

I genuinely hope he continues to progress and move forward and upward from here. If he can keep managing the game appropriately and continue to improve his accuracy, he can be a great player. I won’t allow myself to continue to trash the guy though either way

Notice a trend?

He seems to top out around 20 completions regardless of attempts?

Well he sucked in the colorado game. Sucked for weeks after too. Bama was looking ahead and the trap game got'em.
