Aranda isn't proven enough for Woodward I don't think. And he's not a bad recruiter, but he's definitely not a great one. His personality is perfect for DC.

I wouldn't melt if we hired him if he puts together a 9-10 win season at Baylor or something like that, but I wouldn't have him in my top 5 candidates.

And make no mistake, this will be Ed Orgeron's last year at LSU.

How strong of a recruiter do you have to be at LSU? Looks to me like LSU has a development and coaching problem especially on the OL and DL and LB spots more so than a recruiting problem.

You can't win a national title without both. Need to bring in top-10 recruiting classes and develop players.

When Nick Saban is constantly trying to raid your state and Jimbo and Sark are right behind him, you have to be pretty damn good.

If I was the LSU AD..

I know who I would hire and it really isn’t close. This coach would absolutely crush it at LSU. He is a great recruiter, a great coach and has direct ties to East Texas.

LSU pretty much recruits itself in Louisiana, but if you can cherry pick a couple of good Texas recruits on top of that each year.. that’s a great recipe if the coach is also good at coaching on the field..

Thankfully, they won’t consider him as he doesn’t have enough coaching credibility yet.

His name is Jeff Traylor at UTSA. Whoever gets this guy is getting a good one.

We've been getting 5 stars lately that we may have lost to Alabama when Les was the coach.

I don't have an exact count, but I'd bet my next paycheck that LSU has hired more coaches than any other program in the country over the last three years, head coaches remaining constant. Where we've had consistency, we're doing better.

You cannot win national titles without elite recruits and schools don’t recruit themselves anymore. You need a powerhouse recruiter at head coach to win big. Alabama, with all its national championships, couldn’t recruit enough elite talent under Shula. Saban comes and turns it around in epic fashion and you see the results.
