Too bad that show wasn't filmed there. But there was a movie shot there not long ago called Above Suspicion. Up on Little Creek in Cawood too. My kin was calling it Hollerwood. That blond chick in Game of Thrones was in it.

I actually just watched Justified a few weeks ago, and it's my #1 western drama type show. Every episode was great.

I’ve hated him for years and some folks are finally starting to agree with me.

This. Or he will only let you know the time on the clock once or twice a quarter. I can’t wait for him to be gone.

Gold’s call of 2nd and 26 was just… for a moment of that magnitude (literally a play to win a National title) it was like he was calling the reply of the game.
Most Bama fans agree. It was such a canned vanilla call of one of the biggest plays in CFB history. It’s sad that they actually did a segment that celebrated his call of that play. He came up with a script beforehand that was meant for a victory formation or something similar.
Eli should’ve been shuffled off to retirement years ago.

Makes a lot of sense now. For as long as he has been around, he shouldve know when to throw out the script and save it for a postmortem vs call that play from the heart. It’s almost insulting as a fan on the receiving end of that play to hear that call as canned as it was, what it would’ve meant to us had the roles been reversed. Jabs at Scott Howard aside, he would’ve immortalized that call.

I think it’s on Prime. It’s more like a dark drama with western/southern tones. Best dialogue of any show I’ve ever seen and the characters are unforgettable

John Forney > Eli Gold
Otis Boggs > Mick Hubert
Jim Fife > Rod Bramlet
Jack Cristal & John Ward were the most polished.
Scott Howard is great until he gets excited and then he’s a spaz.
Larry was great but he got just insufferably grouchy the last few years with no humor.
I liked Haywood at Kentucky a lot as well.

About FBI agent Mark Putnam who killed a local woman, Susan Smith, he was having an affair with (both were married to other people) and got pregnant. And the GOT girl is hot but sucks as an actress.

John Ferguson at LSU was the best ever. Since LSU always played home games at night, millions heard him all over the country on WWL.

He's way too nasal sounding to me. Can't stand him. Just squeeze your nose and talk and you'll sound just like him. I saw his fat arse walk into Waffle House at the Hwy 31 exit in Hoover/Vestavia one morning. He tripped stepping up onto the sidwalk and bout fell into the wall. I lol'd.

Yeah if I wanted to see cheating pregnant meth heads killing each other I don't have to pay for it, I just go home.

Eli has an iconic voice but just sounds generally exhausted now. He's been doing it longer than I've been alive, by several years, so I get it and he's not the pinnacle of health. Last time I saw him irl he had two pounds of chicken wings and a pitcher of beer at Baumhower's. It's probably time to consider retiring

It's not that western except the lead character wears cowboy boots and hats, but lots of guns drawn.
It's an FX show, I watched it on hulu.

Eli said after the fact that he comes up with calls by “how will they sound in the Bryant museum years from now.” Which is an awful approach. Most college announcers would had an immortal call. Chris Stewart would’ve crushed it. Eli is a mercenary play-by-play guy and it showed on that call.
