No but he will be next year. Lanning will get multiple HC offers after this year and Boom is the DC in waiting.

Can’t hurt having 3 head coaches on one team

He came on as an unpaid off field assistant of some type. When Cochran had to step away for a bit Muschamp took over Special Teams. If we had to guess he is probably helping out a bit with the defense, too, but nothing has been said officially. It would make sense, though.

It will be interesting to watch, though, because he was a very good DC, but a lot of times once a coordinator becomes a head coach they do not do nearly as well when they go back to coordinator.
Our special teams to this point seems to be doing well and so is our defense. Too early to tell right now, though.

Getting plucked clean by the 3rd quarter still stings, eh?

He coaches special teams. Remember that punt that was downed by Georgia at the one at the end of the first half? Remember the subsequent safety and field goal that gave Georgia an extra five points in the span of 30 seconds to end the first half?

Special teams.

He’s hanging out in Athens with his buddy Kirby helping his Alma Mater win a Natty. His son is also a preferred walk on.

Hell, SC and UF PAID agent Muschamp why not kick your feet up and hang in Athens on Kirby’s staff for a few seasons.

We didn't care a lot for Grantham when he was at Georgia. More than one time several defensive players would look to the sidelines and do a palms up gesture saying they didn't know how to line up or what their responsibility was as the ball was being snapped. I have not noticed this with Florida. Maybe he has simplified his defense a bit?

His defenses (Grantham) seem to give up a lot of 3rd down plays for first downs, though.

It's called 3rd and Grantham for a reason.

Kirby and Muschamp go back a long way. They were working together at Div II Valdosta State very early in their coaching careers.

Muschamp has not had a lot of success being a head coach. His defensive prowess has never been questioned. Some guys are not cut out to be the guy in charge. I doubt he gets a head coaching gig again. Does he go back into coaching at the coordinator level?

I think so. he seem like a football guy. It's in his blood. He MIGHT could go to a G5 team as a HC, then if successful work his way back to the P5, but it's hard to say.
