A first time Head Coach who spent his career as an offensive line coach comes into Fayetteville and immediately has success. It took Pittman only 12 games to have Arkansas back in the top-25.

I think we can all agree that Chad Morris is smarter than Pittman. I think we can also probably all agree that Morris was a better X's and O's coach.

Why was Morris so bad? Not just bad, but historically bad. As in possibly the worst coach in SEC history. It's obvious Arkansas is not as bad as Morris made it seem. Arkansas hadn't had a 2-win season since 1952. Chad Morris comes in and does it in consecutive years.

Morris was an A&M alum and Gus Malzahn is one of his best friends in the profession. So there's at least two motives.

Honest to God, I dont think he had any idea how to run a p5 program, and think his players hated him once they realized he was pretty fake.

His own fricking wife didn't even live in Fayetteville. Let that sink in.

We told y’all to hire an Aggie football coach, we meant Campbell, not Morris.

No, he is just a horrible coach. He doesn’t have to try to be bad.

Not really, Arkansas was ranked in 2015 and 2016. The wheels fell off for Bert in 2017 then Aggy Chad was hired.

We weren’t shitty. Bert had several 7/8 win seasons before he was fired.

We went 7/8/7/4 wins under Bert. I wouldn’t consider that shitty.

Chad Morris sucks though.

False.

In 2014, Alabama needed a missed PAT and dropped touchdown fumble to hold off Arkansas. As recent as 2015, Arkansas won 8 games. It took Chaddly Merrus to really kill our program

Hell, Jeff Traylor HC at UTSA is a better head coach with Barry Lunney Jr as OC than the Chaggie. Both Traylor and Lunney were on Dumbshit's staff. What was going on with that coaching staff?

Yeah, he upgraded the oline and recruited a stable of running backs. Winning at the point of attack and boom, upset of Texas and a top 20 ranking.

I don't agree with either of those

I don't blame Morris for taking the job. I blame the people who hired him. What made them believe four mediocre years at SMU would translate to success at Arkansas? The hire never made any sense and wreaked of desperation.

To think that is to think that Jerry Jones would intentionally wreck Arkansas, and I don’t think anyone would seriously consider that.

I think that Jerry Jones sees the Hogs main problem to be the disparity in talent between what Arkansas can pull, and what people like Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and even aTm can pull.

I think his thought was hire a legendary Texas high school coach who can pull some of that legendary Texas high school talent to Arkansas, and whether the guy was a competent coach became secondary.

Anyone who knows anything about football knows Jerry Jones isn’t known for brilliant football decisions or philosophy, and the whole Chad Morris saga was a disaster and sad, sad chapter in Arkansas football history.

Any coach whose philosophy is an offensive line that averages 270 lbs....is not gonna have success in the SEC.

Everyone is talking coaching philosophy etc, Chad sucked here because the first thing he told the team was “you guys aren’t good enough, I’m going to go recruit Texas and get guys good enough to play in the SEC.” Doesn’t matter if it was true or not, that isn’t how you motivate men and it damned sure isn’t how you motivate boys. He followed through too with almost always playing his recruits even when they failed. Sam is pretty much the opposite of Chad in every way.

Book smart, perhaps. But from the onset, He was one totally ignorant piece of excrement. From the way he treated the players, especially the walkons... to not caring enough to truly know the culture here. From his arrogant, childish slogans... to his undeniably arrogant belief that he always knew best.
Friend, He was, and is an educated idiot!

There is a simple answer. Chad Morris is strictly an Xs and Os guy that is only successful with superior talent. He had no idea what it took to be a successful coach in the SEC. Sam Pittman knows exactly what is needed to be done from a recruiting, coaching staff, weekly preparation, relationships, etc to win.

The correct answer. He had no idea how to run any program.

Sam understands line of scrimmage play within the conference. He also has a passion for the program and state that few understand. Those things combined along with an eye for coaching talent has enabled him to get the program where it is. Chad didn’t get any of that.

Bert put the plan of suck into motion. Chad completed that plan to perfection.
