they had no passing attack. it's early, and they need time, but i was very surprised that they didn't have a real passing plan. Bowling Green showed flashes of passing strategy, more than i saw from tenRC.

Yep, VolNation is very split on Milton right now. Some think “he’s fine, did well enough, will develop” and others (like me) think, “holds ball too long, doesn’t go through his progressions, statue in pocket, no touch”.
Assuming this is our best QB, we’re in for another long season. Just another chapter of the same old book.
From what I saw last year, Bailey is a more polished passer, but it seems the staff wants to stick with their hand picked QB transfer no matter what.
Didn’t expect an 8-4 type year, but my 6-6 prediction is turning into 5-7, maybe 4-8. We’ll see how it goes against a much better (than BGSU) Pitt team.

It was their first game. And Milton's first game in Knoxville. It takes time.

They won 38-6 in their first game with a depleted roster. I would be encouraged rather than anxious

Bowling Green lost to every MAC team they played by an average of 34 points last year. They are projected to be one of the bottom 5 teams in the FBS this year.
I don’t think Milton finishes the season at QB. He had no pressure on him all night and still made poor decisions and throws. Under 50% when your OL is giving you enough time to read War and Peace against what will be the worst defense they see this year is about as bad as it gets.

This is quite the stretch

Yep.
Milton looked good out of the gates, but after that it was not impressive.
He's gonna be a turnover machine in the conference.

Bowling Green averaged 11 points per game on offense last year, and gave up an average of 45 points per game on defense. They are atrocious and were the worst team in the MAC. They are a high school team.
Tennessee couldn’t cover or drop 60 on them. Pathetic.

I’m guessing you don’t watch much Tennessee football. Bailey played in six games last year, and he did decent or better in all but Arkansas. He was 48 for 68 (70.5%) for something like 615 yards, 4 TD and 2 INT (both at Arkansas). And although Milton was not here for the Spring game, Bailey looked leagues better than Hooker and Maurer.

Bailey threw to uncovered WRs in the spring game.

People keep talking about Milton being a statue in the pocket and having flat feet. That’s how he’s coached. That’s a Heupel thing.

If Milton starts the rest of the season he’ll lead CFB in sacks.

I think you mean they didn't show a passing attack. Didn't appear they needed one last night.
