Aggie would be paying him $10 million per year right now.

Is this real? If so this is depressing. Somehow I had no idea it was this much....

Whew I checked before posting and thankfully its not

quote:

BATON ROUGE – Ed Orgeron, who guided LSU to the 2019 National Championship with a perfect 15-0 record, has agreed to a new contract extension valued at more than $7 million per year that will keep him in Baton Rouge until at least 2026.

The new six-year agreement includes a base annual salary of $6 million. In addition, Coach O will receive a $5 million split-dollar life insurance policy payable over the first two years of the agreement. In total, the agreement is worth more than $42 million, before bonuses.

The agreement is pending approval of the LSU Board of Supervisors.

LINK

Certainly is still overpaid IMO but at least its better.

LSU is the only place that O can be successful IMO but thats not reason to justify that salary.

It appears for 2021 he is set to get 8.5 million, plus a budget of 187k for personal air travel and legal fees, 2k a month car allowance, 200k apr bonus and membership into the University club of BR. So the 8.9m might be spot on for '21

Drinkwitz

I'd like to see him bumped up to $6. We have the money and the donors to support it. Hopefully this happens after this season.

I dont disagree with you but what are your thoughts on Kirby?

O has beaten him twice in 2 huge games. He finished the job on the NC.

If kirby is justified at 7mil then O has to be somewhat higher.

Frankly coaches salaries are completely out of control but it is what it is...

I thought Ed made like 6.5 a year

The entire premise of O was a bargain buy and surround him with overpaid elite assistants

Base salary is $6 million per, ends up being around $7 million per.

No.

Jimbo won't win a title in the SEC.

I mean honestly, Saban has to be underpaid based on these salaries. I mean I would argue he is worth double what jimbo and o are worth, at the very least.
