At least they are listing real college towns and not big cities that happen to house a university

Watching this show is very refreshing. I’ve gotten very sick of ESPN’s 24-7 playoff talk.
ESPN execs have come out saying they need to get back to talking what makes college football unique, and this preseason show has been a good start.

My understanding reading this board though is Oxford is overrated, no?

Have you ever been to State College, PA?

Yep. Almost everyone here agrees Athens is GOAT

Charlottesville and Chapel hill are pretty good college towns.
Blacksburg wins as well.

AA is beyond the definition of College town. I like AA a lot but it’s lost it’s College town atmosphere, very corporate feel now.

It does have more of a big city feel than years past but it's still not a huge city and 2.) The university still drives a lot of activity there.

Great cities.... Don't have to worry about messing up the top 2 cities with national championship parades & celebrations

Oxford is a great “college town”, the overrated thing comes from acting like it’s the only place where frat stars and pretty sorority girls tailgate in the country.

Not sure how Baton Rouge didn't make the cut

Plenty of hot, high maintenance women around there. But it's a basically a generic southern frat town.

LSU almost is it’s own small town , I wish they had built State on the outskirts of Jackson somewhere. Would be a small oasis in an otherwise crime filled shithole.

I’d kill to get a home and home with Penn State

The only other college towns I’ve been to other than Baton Rouge is Starkville and Austin. And I definitely understand why Starkville and Austin are not on that list. Not saying Baton Rouge is great or anything, but it’s definitely more LSU country than Austin is longhorn country. No heart and soul whatsoever. And yeah, Starkville is Starkville.

People that rag on starkville haven’t been there in 10 years. That place has come a long way. The cotton district is pretty cool. It’s a clean and safe town. I’d have issue sending my kid to school there.

I’d say it’s been about 7-8 years. Maybe it’s better now.
I had an uncle who tutored athletes there.
