See my post above.
Also Bo does have to realize about 4-5 times a game there are going to be situations that you are going to have to take a shot to complete a pass. It’s what separates a good from a great QB. That willingness to take that hit to throw an accurate ball to pick up that 3rd and 6. Until then he will be all potential with nothing to show for it. He learns the other he has all the skill in the world.
Big problem right now TJ has no chance with our OL right now. Davis has the pocket awareness but reports are he’s had some wow throws but also some horrible throws all camp so far and from all the people that know say he isn’t close to being ready for the SEC. never know though he might be a gamer. Some folks just aren’t good practice players.

I don't expect Bo to be on fire early in camp or season i expect him to improve as the season progresses.

Agreed. Luckily we have a few more weeks of camp and a couple cupcakes. I agree with your prior statement we need to move with a starting 5 on the OL. And just go with it and give them the first team reps.
Want to check my information but did your info have Council part time at RT and Hamm at RG?
I think Ke.Jones may be a little banged up.

I think they are trying to figure out that right tackle spot. Jones, Council and Hamm could all play right guard, but from what I have read Hamm just is not a very good tackle. Maybe Council is the answer or Coffey.

Wile E Coyote or Deja vu all over again, take your pick. We go through this discussion every fall, the defense looks awesome and the offensive line looks horrible.
Moving around guys on the OL AND running a new offense is going to cause a lot of confusion, compounded by the fact the defense knows this AND its a vanilla offense with plays the defense has seen numerous times. The offensive line will be improved and our defensive line will not be world beaters to start the season, but will improve as the season progresses, hopefully meshing by Happy Valley.
Did I hear schemes on offense like Gorgeous Borges? Now Im gettin a little excited. Back to the ole days when we had, what do you call that again, its been so long, oh yeah a game plan scripted for that particular opponent yeah thats the ticket.

Sounds like OL and QB play is still making the Defense look like all stars.

You take those shots when ......Receivers run the right routes and the Offensive line doesn't consistently collapse on the right or left side constantly. Until the line and receivers do their job ......Staying firm in the pocket and taking unnecessary shots is a fools game and the best thing you must have ....is a deep pitching staff to get you through a season.
That's called transfer to find a school that recruits offensive linemen and nurtures good receivers. Otherwise....throw constantly OOB or over the coverage

But I will repeat pressure or not in close games there will be 4-5 plays he will need to stand strong and make the throw.
No one is panicking about the first scrimmage but just discussing what was going on and observations made about groups and players.
We are big enough fans to know the defense always always dominates the first scrimmage. The second scrimmage the offense uses some plays they have practiced all week and catches the defense off guard. 3rd scrimmage is usually primarily for the young guys to see who can be trust and knows the play book well enough to contribute early

I like this very much and I think that's what we'll go with for the season.

As do I. Perhaps we have found a 72 million dollar tackle disguised as a guard....before he goes pro?

Why Gus/Grimes chose to put Council at guard IDK, and perhaps he still winds up there. We'll see. Watching Hamm play it seems apparent to me that he doesn't have the feet or bendy-ness to handle DE/OLB on the edge. However, he has NFL ability at guard IMO.

I am already melting over Bo

Per one insider, Davis “outperformed” Finley by a “wide margin”. Davis had another great pass to Landen King that was dropped.
Harsin had a lot of nice things to say about Davis in the presser too.
I’m not surprised by this. Davis came in as a 4* because of what he looks like in games. Because the elite 11 and other camps dropped his rating Harsin said he has gamesmanship. He just understands how to move the ball when he’s on the field
I’m not saying he’s better than Bo or that he should start or anything. I just think he’s a gamer. If he ever has to play or wins the job we’ll probably enjoy watching it

There is/was supposed to be another practice today. Probably clean up mistakes and lots of condition would be my guess.
Side note : interesting to hear CH talk about lifting so much during fall camp sounds like lifting will be incorporated heavily even during the season. By game 7 the freshman will fall apart. Hopefully not

Speaking of fall camp...
I saw where Gatewood was not picked as the KY starter in their fall camp. I guess the transfer QB beat him out...
I wonder what the fans of Gatewood would think now, after they thought he should be our starter last year?

We have quite a few fans on on3 that are up in arms in regards to Jarquez Hunter, as to why he missed the scrimmage.

Why did he miss? Haven't heard much on him.
