TLDR: Texas and Arkansas have a great rivalry and I look forward to it starting again this year.
From 1959-1979, Texas and Arkansas won a combined 16 of 21 SWC Championships. In addition, the schools claim a combined 4 NC during this period, and both schools had a chance at other NC. There were also 4 games that produced the only loss for one of the teams.
Here a summary of those games and rankings by year. I thought this might help some or you understand why Arkansas & Texas fans don’t like each other much. It was/is a great rivalry.

I’m excited as well. Too young to have experienced the SWC, so I can’t wait to have the rivalry that my parents always talk about.

I am too young to remember any of the games you posted, but I went to the Texas bowl and sat next to your fans and have the hatred of a thousand lifetimes just from that 3 hour experience
Tuck Fexas. No fanbase is worse.

I was in my late teens when Arkansas went to the SEC. It was a big tradition in my family. My grandparents were huge Arkansas fans and my dad was a Longhorn. Usually a few days of not talking to each other afterwards lol. College football needs these type of games and I'm looking forward to the Arkansas revival more than anything. It's why I wanted the SEC move for a long time. Also growing up in East Texas, a lot of LSU fans talked shite, even though we never played each other.??

OP doesn't realize that more than half the country was born after 1979.

I was born in the 1970s myself, so I didn’t see any of these games. I grew up hearing all about it though as both parents also went to Texas. I just thought it might be interesting to read if anyone (like myself) didn’t get to see any of it..
That being said, I do remember Nolan Richardson storming off the basketball court.. before the game was over in the 1990 Elite 8. I don’t remember the specifics, but Texas has the game won. Nolan was so pissed off he left the floor.. and Arkansas rallied for the win to go to the Final 4.
I also was at the Texas Bowl. That was a beat down.

I love y’all’s first baseman taking a cheap shot at ours for no reason is y’all’s rallying cry for your championship-less program.
Best team in history couldn’t even make it out of their own super regional

* 2nd best
Clearly NC State was the best team ever.. if only they hadn’t been cheated from playing for the title, they would have been the champs this year.
