Obligatory “This is an SEC discussion.”
Just playing. You guys are alright. It’s that crap you tracked in here that’s the problem.

What is your honest assessment of Eaux’s ability to coach up his coordinators?
Besides making sure they are pulling on the same side of the rope and doing the things he asks of them, he doesn’t. He lets them coach. He doesn’t need to coach them up.

I don't think there's much of that going on. O has never been a coordinator himself and has mostly only worked along the defensive line.
Likely why he brought in a guy familiar with coaching the secondary as DC.
Offensively, I doubt he gets involved much at all.

Do you think he learned after the issues with Canada?

Sheer depth is my main concern. If we play like we played last year the team will fight hard, but we have a dearth of SEC talent on the squad. I think the Pittboss will get us there eventually but I expect we will lose some games this year just from running out of players.

I tend to agree. Secondary is a question but I do believe we have the answer. Christopher Smith, Lewis Cine, and Latavious Brini all have starting and/or relevant experience. We brought in the best transfer portal DBs in Kendrick and T Smith. Also, our young inexperienced players are elite in Ringo, Kimber, and Green. I think the secondary will be good to great even with a few “inexperienced” guys.

Could totally see that. Especially as the meat grinder of a season wears on.
High praise to your coach though, those kids are playing their hearts out for him.

Before each season dating back to 2017, I've been saying our defense (Ole Miss) can't possibly get worse. I've been proven wrong each time.
Our defensive line and front seven have been baby shite soft for years. Here is how we stack up as a rushing defense compared to the rest of the conference:
2020 - 14/14 (206.9 ypg)
2019 - 8/14 (138.5 ypg)
2018 - 14/14 (221.8 ypg)
2017 - 13/14 (245.3 ypg)
2016 - 14/14 (246.3 ypg)
We have a couple of good linebackers and a couple of young, talented safeties. That's about it. The entire defense is a question mark. I'm hoping some of the JUCO croots Kiffin brought in can do in a pinch.

I think mostly everything at LSU is a question mark this year.
I agree, I think LSU is the biggest wildcard in the SEC.

So I take a break from stuff (boys home from school, vacation time, etc.) and get back on here (yes, probably spurred by the Apocalypse), and you see fit to research my history to asses my posting frequency?

The total yardage will be outrageous.

Coaching wise, Wilks is very experienced and I think he'll do well as our new DC, but it's still an unknown since he hasn't been in the college game for a while.
Player wise, we've got a few unknowns. Will the receivers gain consistency? Will we find someone to replace Bolton's tenacity at LB? How big of a step forward will Bazelak take this year?

Y'all will be improved, but still struggle to make bowl eligibility because of your depth and challenging schedule.

96 passes
