Facts about Texas “destroying” two conferences.

The reason the SWC (most fans weren’t born or in diapers back then) failed, was not because of Texas. SMU had received the death penalty. TCU and A&M were both place on probation by the NCAA. All for illegal recruiting violations. TCU and A&M were denied TV games and limited scholarships. Texas was actually offered then to go to the SEC, but they remained loyal to their SWC teams. Arkansas was offered to enter the SEC and jumped at the chance.
The Big 12 was a cluster frick. The true story of the Longhorn Network was a main factor but here is the rest of the story. Texas offered TT and A&M a partnership in a Lone Star Network. Both Tech and A&M turned it down. So Texas went out on its own and got a huge contact from ESPN. After the contract was signed, all other Big 12 members wanted a share. Since Texas took all the risks, they told the other members, “No!” Btw right before the LHN was created, the SEC offered Texas an invitation. Texas again remained loyal to their conference and declined. Nebraska, Colorado , Missouri and A&M got their feelings hurt (knowing they couldn’t compete with the dollars) all bolted to different conferences. How did they work for them? Missouri has two eastern division titles and that’s it.

Your blame-shifting is rich and misguided.
Everyone was tarnished.
UTex was under scrutiny for: the automobile Edwin Simmons drove; an apartment complex in Austin that provided reduced-rate accommodations for Longhorn players; various other transgressions that linked to coach Dave McWilliams, when he was a UT assistant.
A discussion of what killed the SWC would cause eyeballs to bleed—and no one here is interested in reading that stuff.

Texas is the definition of a self serving prick. Quit golden showering us, but telling us it's raining instead. Y'all always have been and always will be a pompous POS university. I hope y'all continue to hire and fire coaches every three years. frick off.

It is pretty telling that Texas is in the middle of every controversy regarding the conferences they have been a part of, yet is somehow not responsible for their failures.
At your core you are selfish, arrogant and have an entitled mentality.
Those are not good traits for any healthy relationship.

Never let it be forgotten when their AD DeLoss Dodds was asked about competing with the Joneses his response was “we are the Joneses”.
They are arrogant and self serving. Loyalty to conference has never been their thing

And as said, jealous of A&M and Mizzou I wouldn't be shocked if they only took Oklahoma but as reported it will be 14-0 vote

Why didn't UT push for a Big 12 network instead of a Lone Star / Longhorn network? I call BS.

They took all of the “risk” lol
Oh yeah and we asked UTA to join the sec multiple times but Texas’s loyalty was just too strong
These fricks are straight up delusional

Eric Dickerson and his TransAm say “Hi!”

The fact that you are so dense you write that and can’t see why you are an arrogant cancer is incredible. It’d be like writing a post about 10 reasons I hate lists

And what is funny is no one is posting facts. Just opinions. Please do a Google search on my details. BTW, A&M’s best years have always ended up on probation. Please google Sherrill or RC Slocum.

Prototypical Texas self serving bullshite. Like all liberals they twist the facts to fit their self serving agenda. Fact is Texas bent and broke as many rules as it wanted. Their god DKR quit when he was required to follow the rules like everyone else. Since then Texas has been pretty much mediocre.
