What does this even mean?
It's not like they're companies that can be sold.

Pretty shitty for the population iyam. Alabama should be nowhere near Texas, but we are. Oklahoma does much more with way less.

Great example of how money doesn't buy you success baw.
I wonder what it's like to be a team that has that much money, yet are still broken after Bama made them their bitches over ten years ago.

UTex is a very wealthy brand.
Thanks for the news flash.
If you think that benefits SEC universities, you’re wrong.
Unless of course your closet is currently overflowing with Kansas State, Texas Tech, and Baylor merchandise.

Texas and OU would definitely help with the next SEC tv contract. You are fooling yourself otherwise. They would also bring a hell of a lot more money into the pocket of every SEC program, with on the field performance.

True, but it is an annual report that relays value as if they were.
#s show what a CFB team would be "worth on the open market if it could be bought and sold like a professional sports franchise. It analyzes each program’s revenues and expenses along with cash-flow adjustments, risk assessments and growth projections."
I haven't seen the current #s and OP didn't provide link, but it is a $100 million + dollar value drop for Bama since 2018 valuation (1.01 billion) if true.

Well if your trying to come up with a Revenue total for your TV packages, the Brand value of your League can be used to predict the Revenues that ESPN, SECNETWORK, etc will pay for your games and based on that brand, those networks can then price their Advertisements to Corporations which is where they make their money.
So having those type of Team Brands impacts TV Revenue streams and likely also is something that SEC Schools will use for NIL, which will become part of recruiting pitches by Coaches.

Took this thread way too damn long before someone actually relayed why this is important; SEC is buying up brand power the way they were buying up TV markets back in 2011.

Huge piece for recruiting. Bryce Young's million plus in contracts without ever playing a down as the Bama starting QB is huge news.
Exposure and brand matter.

Oh no doubt, it left Lane Kiffin almost speechless

So two of the top five most valuable brands in college football belong in the state of Alabama? Interesting

The list is idiotic and has nothing to do with TV revenue "value"

NIL cannot be used by any schools to recruit athletes.

Brands Matter, Greg Mcelroy made that point over and over and over again on the SEC network.
And yes, valuation models, at least 1 of them, uses a revenue to estimate value, or what in fact is Discounted Cash Flow Model. Best way to estimate future cash flows is revenue. So yes, Market value/ and Brand etc can be used to help understand what the future cash flow streams since financial data (earnings and cash flows) are used to measure such Market values and Brands.
As for recruiting, lets see, Coach Saban is at the Texas HS football Association as Major Speaker, he leaves there and makes an announcement that Bryce Young just signed an NIL deal for $1 Million.
Now did he go to a Recruit directly and use that to recruit a player, NO. You think that him announcing that at the Texas HS Association meeting was not related to recruiting?
