BREAKING- LSU hires Jay Johnson

The former Arizona skipper led the ‘cats to two Omaha trips in 6 seasons.
Coach was born on 4/20 (blaze it) 1977 in Orville, California. He has an overall record of 316-172 as a head coach at Point Loma Nazarene (2005), Nevada (2014-15), and Arizona (2016-21). His tournament record is 17-7.
He won the Mountain West regular season title in 2015 and the PAC-12 title this year. He was awarded conference coach of the year in both championship seasons.
In his 6 (including the COVID season) years at Arizona he has finished as national runner-up (beating the SEC champs Miss State at the dude) in ‘16, made a regional in ‘17, missed the postseason in ‘18 and ‘19, and went 0-2 in Omaha in ‘21 after beating the shite out of Ole Miss in a home super regional.

Great hire. I think Arizona’s style of play will fit in at LSU nicely. Plus he’s already got winning experience in Omaha

I dont understand why he didnt get any interest.i like the hire but he should at least get an interview

Waiting to see how this plays out. His conf. record left a lot to be desired in the PAC.
