Is UT gunna not give Vitello a giant raise because Lsu isn’t interviewing him? I think not.

So, LSU should just give up and not try?

Did I say that?

I am trying to understand what the point would be to put out misinformation?

Do you really think so? Messaging is coming out that he might prefer to stay at Oe Miss - and I'm not sure I blame him. Does he really want to deal with your crazy fans, live in BR, and the insane expectations of the job?Maybe he prefers to coast on what he's built. Besides, LSU fans have been VERY vocal about not wanting him.

As for Vitello, he already has everything built at Tennessee, and everything he wants from the AD. Godwin would fit the bill at LSU. - he even looks a lot like younger Orgeron

You two have really moved the fences quite a bit this last week.

If the new Skipper isn't announced by Saturday then one of the coaches managing a team in the CWS is the bigger target.

LSU will hire a great coach regardless.

If the real candidate(s) is still coaching, keeping his name out of the news by floating a bunch of other names out there is a courtesy to him to avoid distractions.

Floating a name that the AD knows no one will be satisfied with like Bianco makes getting approval more likely for a more qualified candidate.

I still think it is going to be Bianco. But then again, maybe he just doesn't want to deal with it

That seems like a pretty big reach.

I hope he doesn't, that'd be a very underwhelming hire.

Only because you want to be right about what you've been saying this whole time.

Let's say that Woodward's top two targets are Vitello and Corbin. Do you really think the best idea is to have the media constantly asking them questions about the LSU job while they're preparing for the CWS? All that would do is piss them off.

Putting that Bianco is near a deal pisses off the fanbase (which worked) then if you get one of your fall back guys like Godwin then the fanbase is happy. The same thing is true with floating Casey. Woodward knew that the fanbase would hate it after their reaction to Heimlich pitching in 2018.

We had two BR radio guys doing a live show on YouTube at the same time the other morning. One said that a deal for Bianco could be done by the end of the day. The other said Bianco was nothing but smoke. Last night, word comes from Ole Miss that Bianco to LSU is a bunch of smoke too. How are you still questioning that no one in the media knows what's really going on?

Logical and rational thinking doesn’t belong on tRant. Please cease and desist immediately.

Ps. I’m really hoping y’all hire Vitello for the Vol melt. Even though most of them will disappear for months, it will still be glorious. Make it happen.

Corbin and Vitello are not going to leave what they have for the headache that is LSU. If it isn't Bianco it will probably be Godwin.

Same here, not many fans want him to be honest.

Don’t crush my dreams of not having to wait until football season to laugh at Tennessee again.

Tennessee will pay Vitello whatever they have to in order to keep him. Peyton Manning is leading that effort. Corbin is never leaving the built in advantages he has at Vanderbilt.

I have to admit I'm surprised that LSU didn't kick the tires on Schlossnagle

I don't think Corbin would unless there is just something about Vandy that he is completely fed up with.

LSU would likely be able to get Vitello though if they wanted him, not a slam dunk by any means, but they'd have a pretty good chance.

It seems you believe the same despite your comment above:

LSU should just accept that and not even contact them. No point in trying. Just accept a coach that is lower on the list.
