Stevenson declared for the Draft

Yay. Now we get to wait another whole month to find out if Stevenson or Sears will be part of the team.

that's probably the route they'd have to go unless the schools got on board with the idea of letting them keep pursuing different undergraduate degrees

I certainly don't understand the minutiae quite yet, but considering that college athletes could inevitably be considered employees, I wonder how that concept would apply to eligibility?

In other words, could Utah State hire a 33-year-old G League journeyman SG to come in for a year to mentor a true freshman?

Do we just throw everything out the window regarding amateurism, eligibility, and maybe even full-time enrollment at that point?

Has Stevenson put his name in the draft to get feed back yet?

Stevenson will return and have a chance to be a 1st round guy next year. He is perfect for the NBA as a 6'11" player that can hit 3's in todays game.

Many felt the same about Clowney. Still, hoping for the best.

Stevenson may be like Primo in that he didn't do much here, showed some talent and was able to get drafted. Hopefully he's not a pervert like Primo though. My guess is he'll get feedback on what he needs to work on and work on those things next year before actually leaving early next spring.

Damn. I don’t check the thread for a few hours and we went from getting everybody to we are getting nobody and losing Stevenson

he's just on the list of early entrants who can return to school

Exactly, same as Sears.

I mean technically, isn't Ugonna Onyenso on that list (for now) also?

Didn't even realize Stevenson was draft eligible. Just made the age cutoff by 77 days.

Stevenson shot 31.7% from 3 last year.

But when he made at least one he shot 41.5%. Very streaky. If he gets consistency I could see him being a 1st round guy, maybe even a lottery pick. Remember he's supposed to still be in high school right now.

Guess he wants to hear UNC's offer. Hate when they leave campus without committing.

I was looking at these earlier as well. If I recall correctly, Hodgson was recruiting Cisse for us for a while.

The reality is he's 6'11", can clearly shoot, has a year of high level college ball under his belt, and has a basketball pedigree to boot. Not to mention a sky high ceiling given his age. There's a solid chance a team takes him this year. We need to be prepared for that.

What’s the date they have to withdraw by?

10 days after the last day of the draft combine. So May 29th.

I'd be pretty shocked if he stays in

Only thing that concerns me is a good team with a late first that wants to grab him a year before he's a lottery pick without needing to rely on him much in his rookie season.

Way more likely than many of us would like to believe.

I would not be shocked if NBA teams get a good look at him and decide he's worth drafting this year. Would not surprise me one bit.
