I’m wondering if we play Sears at the 2 primarily like we did in 23.

To be real..Grant Nelson is the one that really scares me because he's not ready for the league yet but he doesn't like school..and the comments he made after the game vs UConn leaves me with some concern on him possibly transferring to the highest bidder.
Do anybody else feel the same way?

Pedulla did have two games where he shot over 20 shots, maybe you watched one of those, in one he scored 28 and one he scored 33. He’s pretty efficient, more so than Caleb Love or Wade Taylor, he’s not as efficient as Sears but not many people are.
Oats goes by numbers, a money ball approach really, and as Juniors Pedulla and Sears stats were very similar. Can Pedulla make the SR season jump Sears did? Idk

Hell I feel that way about every player in college basketball right now.

If he doesn’t like school there is very little school work he needs to do. Especially graduate athletes. You’d be surprised how little they have to do scholastically

What are you hearing on the Pedulla side of things Crimson?

Nah he will play mainly PG imo. I do think there will be some points in the game with Holloway at PG and Sears at SG to give Sears a bit of a break.
Holloway can play SG too, he is 90th percentile in catch and shoot threes.
I dont think we get Pedulla if Sears comes back I think he is a backup option if Sears goes pro.

It wouldn't shock me if Bama went after Moussa Cisse (I think that's his name)

Is JQ a good comparison for Aden? Seems like that's a potential career trajectory for him.

He kin to Ansu? How bout Mousa Guye?

Holloway has the capability to shoot ober 40% from 3 he could be an elite shooter. JQ’s a lot better at getting to the rim and finishing that Aden, that’s Aden’s weakness right now. They have some sililarities, both make some really good passes.

I don't think so. Quinerly was very adept around the basket on the occasions that he didn't turn the ball over driving into heavy traffic while ignoring his 2 open teammates, but a highly inconsistent shooter. Holloway is absolutely fricking terrible around the basket because he's tiny and not an elite athlete. Hopefully it'll improve as he gets more physically mature and can absorb contact better. His calling card has always been his jump shot though. Lots of people considered him the best 3pt shooter in last year's recruiting class. He's got beyond NBA range and a quick release. His numbers were terrible last year, but you can also see a pretty clear break occurred for him in January where he went from good not great to unplayable. Obviously something was going on, whether injury, mental, off-court distraction or whatever.
Personally I'm all for it. If he sucks, you can't play 13 guys anyway and he's back in the portal. If he looks like a 5* we get a good player and break Auburn basketball. Not much downside as it stands. Now, if Sears ends up staying in the draft I may be a little less optimistic because it'll be harder to hide him if he's just a bust.

Good analysis.
In Holloways defense though most 5 star freshmen PGs have pretty bad freshman seasons. Quinerly, Jaden Bradley, Davison, none were very good in their freshman seasons. I think Aden should make a big jump his sophomore season, especially Since his skillset is more suited for our offense than it was Auburn’s.

I do think Aden has the skills to be good at finishing around the rim, he can drive left or right and is good at finishing with either hand, he’s skilled. Needs to get bigger and stronger.

I agree. JQ could certainly have head scratching games. But when he was under control and in a rhythm he could have long stretches where he was the best player on the floor.

Holloway just committed to Alabama

Especially playing for a coach like Bruce who asks a lot of his guards and basically never lets them play off the ball. Holloway needs to be able to play off ball just to get the most out his shooting ability. Not many guys are good shooters off the dribble, especially freshmen. It's an uncommon skill that you mostly see in the pros.

Look down Sears and either Nelson or the Rutgers kid and we are sitting pretty
