Vanderbilt, trying to get caught up to the investments every other SEC team made in 1989, is investing 300 mil into athletics
New football facility with some upgrades to the current stadium
New basketball facility
New indoor practice field for football only (last one they built houses all rec teams and other sports. Morons)
Nothing to baseball because Corbins a machine and does all the funding and upgrades himself. Win a championship or two and you can do what you want
In all seriousness, I'm 33 and this is the first day in my life I've seen Vanderbilt commit donor funded and SEC money to athletics. What a time to be alive
Worst hoops program at the moment. And worst football program.
Only one way to go! (Realistically we stay last in both forever so technically 2 ways to go)

This is so great. Love the new Chancellor and AD for getting this started.

Basketball and football facilities are so bad at VU that $300 mil would seem like just a start. Vandy is a blue blood in academics. They should rival Stanford in athletics, too.

Good to see.

300 mil ain't much these days, especially spread out.

Vandy will probably never win actual titles in football because of their admittance restrictions, but to see them this committed and upgrading means they could start competing for bowl games again.
Basketball, OTOH, they might swing a few big recruits and make a run. That would be incredible to witness.

For just those 3 or 4 projects it is, especially for Vandy. Auburn's new football facility looks to be a palace, and it's cost is around $90 million. Extremely nice indoor facility could be built for $20-30 million. Say another $70 million which would build a palace basketball facility. That would leave another $100 million or so for football stadium upgrades, or to invest more into the other projects.
Seems like a pretty huge step forward for Vandy.

Unless you are building a new football stadium 300 mil is a shite ton.

Nice to see the investment.

I have a feeling we are all going to upgrade our athletics facilities soon.

I disagree. If you commit to your athletic programs, even Vanderbilt can climb the ranks.
