I've criticized her on here, and even called her Trump's David Souter.

However, on this one, let me play devil's advocate. Maybe she knew the 5 were voting for, and she sided with the left to keep the 'pack the court', 'Trump's picks are tyrants', etc. crowd quiet.

Seems like with the 3 Trump picks, at least 1 goes against Trump in his victories. Could this be part of the famous 4D chess to keep the lunatics from blaming everything on 'Trump's Court'

Not saying it's true, but just a thought. Just seems odd that of the 3, one seems to break ranks on controversial decisions...especially if Trump is going to prevail with 5 votes. Note, this only applies to the 3 Trump appointees, not turncoat John Roberts.
I'm going to go about life as I have before, knowing that all this bullshite is fabricated. I will know that even if I pay more in the very short term, the long term benefits of this policy, if we stay the course, will more than pay dividends.

History lesson..... no true economic policy shift that was positive was instituted without short term pain.

This will be another, and possibly one of the greatest.
Pull out of NATO, or threaten to, and see how fast this tariff shite goes away.

Wouldn't affect us one bit...would actually save us serious money.

Europe's a-hole puckers so much Portugal shoots across the Atlantic and damages Trump tower in Greenland.
As a follow up to this...I'm very much an independence of the Fed guy. I know that is not a popular opinion on here. I've always advocated for an independent Fed, and one that operated with sound policy.

Paul Volker (Democrat) single handedly help Reagan in the early 80s reign in inflation and interest rates by a tight monetary policy. Wasn't popular, and caused a minor recession, but was necessary. They worked together on both fiscal / monetary policy.

What Powell did today seemed purely political... Prior to today, I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking most of what he did was sound.... After today, it's hard to not think he's going to torpedo Trump any way he can. He will be replaced though in 26, and hopefully Scott Bessant will be in the forefront in picking the replacement.

The 'Shitshow' about Tariffs

Posted by hogwildinhouston on 4/4/25 at 7:34 pm
I've tried to wrap my mind around them using my Economics background.

You can go either way when taking that route.

What makes me solidly side with Trump is the same as everything with Trump...

When everyone in the mainstream throws a fit, cries about how bad the impacts are, you have to wonder if it's just Trump.

Then, when you see the market rally when several countries agree to work on Tariffs, and the jobs data comes in better than expected..AND THEN, Powell within 30 minutes gives a statement about how the tariffs are going to cause more inflation....and the market crashes again...

Then you see that the force against Trump isn't natural economic forces, but coordinated shots against.

They can't keep it up forever. More countries will come to the table to level the playing field. The results will start to show.

Even then the corrupt media won't be able to hide it.

One of my favorite shows ever. So damn funny.

Not sure about ever, but yes, it's one of the classics.

We still love to watch clips of the interactions between JLD's character and the Finland Prime Minister. Every one of them is absolute gold.

Yea, that Masters win was one of the most remarkable things i've ever seen. It really felt like going back in time, just how it all unfolded that Sunday. Buddies and I were going bonkers watching.

We kind of felt at the time that would be the last time we saw that kind of play from him. I'd love to get it one more time, but at this point I just don't see how that is possible.

I was 15 at the time, and lived at the golf course. I happen to stay home that day to watch, and will never forget it. I wasn't a huge Nicklaus fan (Watson was my guy), but I've never pulled more for someone than I did for Nicklaus that day. It was truly one of the top moments in sports for me.
I felt bad for them at first, but then saw where the wife went on Facebook to give step by step instructions to other people on how to avoid paying and basically stiff the timeshares That is what pissed the Mexican authorities off.
Anyone who walks off after a loss touting what they did before is the lowest of all.

Any coach worth a shite doesn't think about the titles he won, he anguishes over the ones he lost. Any coaching legend will say that, and truly mean it.

That arrogant frick want to point to his ring finger about the past....keep winning you POS, and then you'll be a true legend. And not just in your own mind..

Dear God, make this happen.....

Nah he is just a piece of shite

No reason needed

Exactly. He was appointed straight to Chief Justice by GWB, upon recommendations from HW Bush and his cronies. He's just one of those high brows who thinks he's above the 'Trump' crowd and wants to distance himself.

Hopefully there is something out there that will bring his high brow down..

Norm Stewart broke out of the nursing home determined as ever.

March Madness loss....yet again.

Cool your jets. You’re still Arkansas.

By an Aggie basketball fan? Good lord, where to start.
Chuck Schumer has a chance to bring the Democratic party back to a place of normalcy. There was a time when he was a moderate voice. There are none of those left in the Democratic party. Already Hakeem Jefferies is bashing him on 'caving' on the CR bill. The only voices are the nuts in the House screaming.

However, he has a chance to win back the middle, and become the voice of reason. Believe it or not, he once was that. He needs to grab his balls, and let the Dems he's going to drag their asses back to a normal position. He needs to do what Trump did to the Republicans. The hated it, but here we are where they are all in line.

Chuck needs to show he's calling the shots, and they need to get their arse in line.

The country needs a Dem to take the mantle and drag them out of absolute lunacy. Chuck...you have a chance now. Do it.

Have you spent any time around the so called gay community?

I have. The ones I know hate this shite.

I'm one of them. Voted for Trump 3 times. The media spreads this notion we are all flag waving degenerates. Trump seems to think one of us is the right person to lead the American economy. But anyway..

Anyone who thinks the vast majority of gay people support this are as fricking crazy as the ones promoting it.

We are NOT pedophiles. I've never met any gay person who isn't repulsed by the thought. By the way, every day there are pedophiles arrested for molesting the opposite sex, more than same sex actually.

I just wish people would judge based on actions of the person, not rope people into classifications. And before you try the 'there are more of you' angle, you may want to look at the pedophilia stats. They are not in the favor of 'straight' people versus gay people. For the record, I think ALL of them are abhorrent people who need to be locked up forever.

Well, McTurtle stepping down certainly opens the door for a conservative to replace him.

I've never really understood Kentucky's recent trend. They give us arguably the most conservative and rational Senator but then they also give us a RINO swamp pig.

Don't forget all while electing Bashear as Governor.

So, statewide voters elected multiple times Rand Paul, Mitch McConnell, and Andy Bashear. You couldn't have a more wide spectrum.

Although, it's not without precedent. Iowa for more than 20 years elected Chuck Grassley and Tom Harkin as US Senators. Same statewide voting base, but electing 2 polar opposites policy wise.

Wisconsin is another. Ron Johnson has won multiple terms, but they have had Baldwin and Herb Kohl in the other seat.

States can be weird in their habbits.
quote:

Democrats are going to easily take the house. We just need to hold the Senate so Trump can pack judges.

They will not easily win the House if they continue to act like they did at Trump's speech. The Rs need to hang that around every moderate Dem there is....

The only way they win the House is..

1. Economy tanks massively. Not going to happen.
2. Somehow Dems change the narrative about how crazy their House members are.

Even fricking Carville agrees that how they acted at the speech dooms them. If they continue, hang that around every one of their necks, and they will end up losing seats.
quote:

Meh...maybe Michigan will be competitive, but I don't see NH or MN flipping red in 26

If Sununu runs for the seat in NH, it absolutely flips.

I'm pretty sure he is, which is why Shaheen retired.

He seems like a solid guy, and has been a great coach working at schools not known for their basketball programs prior to him being there.

Finally, the dude looks fantastic for 76 years old. If I didn't know, I'd guess he was in his 50s.

Hats off to him on all accounts.
