did anyone think this?
this is LSU's investigation of themselves, of course this particular report had nothing to do with the NCAA

I mean your whole university had an incredible amount of indifference and incompetence regarding title IX and sexual assault. But other than that, yeah, you're totally back.
If this was my university I would rather the problem be isolated to athletes than know we had been failing students at all levels.

Pen State says hello.
And they are also the cautionary tale for LSU athletics.
There wasn’t a single NCAA rules violation in what happened in Happy Valley but they got hammered anyhow. I don’t think the NCAA will see fit to act here but if for some reason they do, they will do exactly as they did with Penn State and simply dole out punishment even in absence of a crime.

LSU fans don’t do well with facts.

BATON ROUGE — LSU is under investigation in football and men's basketball by the NCAA and a special division of the NCAA for more serious violations called the IARP — Independent Accountability Resolution Process.

LSU offered self-imposed penalties to the NCAA on Oct. 20 that include a loss of eight football scholarships over two years along with reductions in recruiting visits, recruiting communication and player evaluations. On Wednesday, LSU added a bowl ban for the 2020 season to those self-imposed penalties.

I agree completely and not mean to suggest otherwise. I brought it up because it is the clear and perfect example of the NCAA administering punishment where there was no NCAA crime.

The NCAA also got themselves sued because of that and ended up having to roll many of those sanctions back.
Not sure they'll ever do that again.

LSU suspends two assistant athletic directors (247Sports)
quote:
On Friday morning, LSU announced that assistant AD Verge Ausberry will be suspended for 30 days and assistant AD Miriam Segar will be suspended for 21 days. The announcement comes as LSU released an extensive report by the firm Husch Blackwell that revealed findings from an independent investigation of how LSU handled allegations of sexual and domestic assault in years past.
They are being suspended based on Husch Blackwell's findings which stated both have failed to properly handle reports of sexual misconduct and domestic violence among student-athletes. Ausberry and Segar will be required to undergo training in regard to how to deal with domestic and sexual violence.
The investigation also found that LSU's Title IX office, which is meant to handle cases of sexual assault and domestic violence, has been under-resourced and understaffed for years.
Yesterday, accusations emerged that former football coach Les Miles texted various female students, took them to his condo alone, made them feel uncomfortable and, on at least one occasion, kissed a student. The investigation did not find that Miles had sexual relationships with any of the women, but did define the behavior as “inappropriate,” according to USA Today.
The report states that Miles strongly denies kissing the woman mentioned in the investigation. According to USA Today, Miles believes he did, “nothing wrong and was simply mentoring young women at the university.” Furthermore, Miles is also accused by athletic department staff of saying that female student workers helped pursue top recruits to choose LSU, “needed to be attractive, blonde and fit,” according to USA Today.
USA Today reports that LSU issued Miles a letter of reprimand and required him to sign forms that said he read and understood the school’s policies. He was ordered to stop hiring co-eds as babysitters, could no longer be alone with them and was forced to attend eight, one-hour sessions with an attorney, paid for himself, according to the report.
The news of Miles’ specific accusations comes just hours after it was reported that Miles had ended his legal bid to prevent the public release of the 2013 investigation that cited these accusations. Miles’ attorney explained the decision in a statement.
“Quite simply, Mr. Miles cannot defend himself against the inaccurate and unfair media attention that this matter has received during the past week without citing the report’s findings and conclusions,” wrote his attorney, Peter Ginsberg.
LSU still has objections to the release of the records, which must be resolved by the court.

They also got a lot of the penalties incurred reduced after a year or two because the NCAA realized they overstepped. What happened at Penn State was a criminal matter that never should have been under the purview of the NCAA.
Hence why nothing was ever going to happen to LSU for Title IX violations. The roll back of sanctions on Penn State's athletic program established that particular precedent.

Yup. At least Hugh was into hookers and not trying to bang his student workers.

No it’s not
penn State involved a Coach walking in and witnessing a crime, reporting it to the HC and then multiple people hurried it.
Here LSU might just be incompetent across the board unrelated to sports.
