I thought it was a done deal and had already started. Sounds like Bama is even feeling the money crunch from Covid;
LINK

On a positive note, it is not too late to tear it down and start from scratch.

God, I hope they do blow up that poorly lit cavern of an arena

Baseball got a great facility out of using the same bones. Can’t see why basketball can’t. We need state of the art TVs in urinals at BDS more.

Love Coleman. Park on 15th Walk by Track and Field. Look in on The Indoor Football Facility and walk in the Back door. Life is Good.

The new flyover makes it easier to get to Coleman from 15th.

No everyone? What? I bet this dummy went through a whole lot of erasers getting his eighth grade education.

It’s will unlikely better in any aspect other than being larger. It’s going to take more than a makeover to make it feel as good as Auburn Arena does.

This is more of a ploy to get more donations. It's the oldest trick in the book. They already raised $300 million of the $600 million goal last year.

The probability is that they are waiting for the BJCC to finish their renovations and will hold the entire 2022 basketball season there while Coleman gets built. Much like baseball held their entire season at the Hoover Met while Sewell-Thomas got built.

They are. Coleman's plans isn't a renovation. They're building a new arena in the footprint of Coleman much like baseball did.
The lobbies, locker rooms, offices surrounding Coleman are new and nice. So those will remain.
Plus Coleman is in an ideal place and many athletic dept offices are located there.

Sewell Thomas went from this...

To this...

Alabama baseball has a top notch facility. Nationally. If Alabama basketball can accomplish the same, sign me up.

Coleman needed renovation 20 years ago... I know, that’s an exaggeration. But still.

I’ve been to the new baseball complex once since renovations... absolutely beautiful. And to the Auburn fans, I’ve never been inside the basketball arena, but the baseball complex in Auburn is absolutely top notch.
