Same bad angles to the court and the airplane hanger nosebleed seats are the same as there are now. I know the trend for CBB is to provide a food court for the fans. With the College game lasting just over 2 hours, never understood why any fan would want to have food during the game and be away from the action. I would rather eat at a decent restaurant after the game.

No. Those are eliminated with the reconfiguration.

No they're not. A completely new upper deck will be built out of basically thin air. It will be angled mostly right above the lower bowl, several feet closer to the court.
This is what it looks like currently. It angles straight up from the court. Much like the end zone at Jordan-Hare.
The new upper deck will be situated above the lower bowl.

These spaces are revenue generators. Much like the spaces in Bryant-Denny, these spaces are rented and leased out for corporate events and other occasions. During games is when it's probably used the least.

Still bad angles. Only way to make a major difference would be to change the roofline. Only difference is lighting. They could have had an overhanging upper deck which would have changed some of the angles, but they would have had to reduce capacity.

Joel Eaves, you are showing signs of dementia more every day. AU never had a history of supporting BB and the University never gave a shite about it. But under Cliff Ellis and the Cliff Dwellers the students and the fans supported decent teams. When AU announced the building of the AA, they emphasis was atmosphere and to get away from the empty echoes of SEC arenas. It was something the SEC Office wanted because of the Tv contracts. Ole Miss follows suit. Just like the drunk Uncle I call Bama, size is not everything and most programs have figured it out. Bama just prefers that lipstick.

Now you're going back to the narrative that Auburn never cared about basketball! Your perspective of Auburn athletic history is truly pathetic.
Do you really believe that Auburn's decision to build a mini-arena smaller than the one that they had, was anything more than the fact that they weren't able fill anything larger?
Man, you can wallow in that perception, but don't expect the rest of us to do the same.

Why would you spend $90M for a new arena because you are not filling the old building.? You do know BEC is still standing ? AU BB needed a culture change and the got it with Bruce Pearl and the AA. It is considered one of the best atmospheres in the country for BB in a normal year. BEC would not have provided that atmosphere under any condition. Again, there is a reason Duke hasn’t build a new arena. Most smart programs a getting rid of those 70s structures.

The folks could spend millions on a dilapidated insane asylum though. They will paint Coleman yet again and that’s it. Very embarrassing.

Amazing!
Go back and read your posts from start to finish and you may realize the way you float in and out of your narratives...strange.

No, my narrative has always been that AU went small for atmosphere and a culture change. All about supply and demand . They had a 14K arena, they could have gutted it and built something with a smaller capacity. They just realized it wasn’t about size. Something the drunk Uncle never understands.

Naa , Irons is a good poster coach. The passive-aggressive aspect surfaces when interactions with too many Tide fans occur. A good guy.

How will the capacity change? Athletics director said they think it will end up in the 9,500 to 10,000 range for a net loss in the 4,000 range.

Oof

12,000 to 14,000 is like 7000-8000 at Auburn. I know because I've been there!

So have I. Again the numbers mean very little, I have been to a sellout at Coleman. It was the 2nd worse atmosphere I experience in an away game. Second to only a half filled BJCC arena.
