That's exactly what they're doing.

Not much of an overhang. Look about the same as upper ring of seats above a walkway. That is not going to change the angles much.

The Hanger configuration allows the deep high seats. Which most are shitty seats due to the distance and angle to the court. changing the roofline would allow a deeper hangover and allow the seats to be closer to the court. The design of Coleman is a large version of old gyms in the 40s.
