I grew up a huge Braves fan.
My family would travel from AL to Fulton County Stadium (and so on) a few times per month, and we watched every game on TBS. My love affair with Braves baseball started around 1980 and lasted for a solid 20 years.
It took the Braves’ run of championship-less 100+ win seasons in the 90s for me to realize how cursed Atlanta - and Georgia - sports really are. Any other MLB team of that era would easily have won at least 3 titles with that pitching staff.
Anyway...as evidenced by 2nd & 26, this curse isn’t just on baseball.
How do you GA sports fans keep going?

I was living in Gadsden, Alabama and my grandmother was a HUGE Braves fan. We watched the games when there were maybe 100 people total (this include grounds, announcers, players, etc) in the Fulton County Wind Tunnel.
So yes, after seeing the train wreck(s) of the State of Georgia sports, they are indeed cursed.

Because I’m just a fan. If they win, great. If they lose, oh well. I’m not going to let it affect me negatively. Personally I don’t see how fans that have a championship or bust mentality do it when they let it impact their life. frick that.

We think of all of the other Southeast, US third world states we could be living in and appreciate that we have a MLB team that those mongrels can enjoy. And we can attend, relatively inexpensively, one of the three best institutions of higher learning in the SEC, located in Athens, GA, one of the best and most beautiful college towns in the US.
We also have lives outside of sports that help us realize that sports are there for our entertainment, and we do not derive our entire sense of self-worth based on which team we happen to support. But we also know that our beloved Dawgs have been very close to winning a couple of NCs recently, and will win one soon. And this triggers our rivals to start multiple threads about our status.
We recognize the attention for what it really is.

Only to how cruel this curse is, made a bunch of retards in Atlanta pretend to give a shite about soccer so they could claim a "major" sports championship. I've never met an Atlanta United fan that isn't a complete penis with ears

Show me on the doll where the soccer coach touched you.

It’s sports. My team falling short of championships ultimately impacts my life very little.

I am blessed to be from the state of Georgia. I consider myself a lifelong, passionate fan of the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and also a direct supporter/alumni of the University of Georgia. When they win or do well it makes me happy. When they lose I don’t like it. When they come close I am disappointed but they got there. Those times do give me hope and I feel like all 3 have done a lot to get better. I am hopeful that those things will produce results but if they don’t I will still watch/go to games. Go Dawgs! Go Braves! Go Falcons!
