Because you said it? That's laughable just like your DC search and Orgeron without Brady. Would be a home run hire.

Fleck is a much better coach than Orgeron. It will be interesting to see if Tennessee can bag him where LSU could not. Just like they couldn't get Fisher, and deride him as a result of that failure

Link to where LSU tried to get Fleck.

They could've had Fisher but left him at the altar when they decided to keep Les after beating Aggie.

I can't blame Fisher for turning them down after that.

He's a good coach, not great, but will have Tennessee winning between 7-9 games a year with the occasional 10 plus win season sprinkled in.

I just don’t know why he would do it. Especially right now. All about the money I guess. The pressure at TN will be a little different that MN

PJ Fleck is a good “culture” coach, but he’s the type of coach that’ll take 3-4 years to see great results, especially needing to purge a program like Tennessee. Tennessee fans won’t give him enough time.

Is he really that different from Butch Jones? Butch was full of culture building gimmicks, but there’s only one thing SEC schools care about. If Fleck were to come in and only win 7-8 games a year for the first several are the faithful gonna be faithful in Knoxville?

With the sanctions that are about it hit UTa they have to give him the time. No coach is going to be able to fix what's left of their roster in just a couple of years. Even Nick Saban would take 4 to 5 years to start turning that ship around w/all the talent fleeing and the scholarship reductions they are going to suffer under.

They are almost carbon copies of one another.

The only difference is that Fleck has a little more on his resume by previously coaching in a Power 5 conference.

Fleck built both programs from the bottom up into successful teams. Jones inherited stocked and well oiled machines from Brian Kelly at both stops before getting the UT job. They really aren't carbon copies of each other.

I am not sure PJ Fleck is "the guy" for the Vols that returns them to competing for a national title. But... he might be the guy that sets the table for "the guy".

He will probably get UT through the sanctions with respectable results, and that won't be easy, which will position the Vols well once things clear up. If he gets time, and it will take some time, he can probably get the Vols into that 8-9 wins every year category.

That is nothing to sneer at and will do a lot to help with recruiting.

You say how much a better coach PJis than Coach O. Really what has PJ Fleck won ???? You dog Coach O every chance you get. What does coach O have. A national championship by putting together a coaching staff, transfer players, players he recruited and a team considered as one of the best ever. A perfect season. So again I say what does PJ have. A row your boat quote. Yea go for it Tenn !!

I agree with your assessment of Fleck and he seems to have a Houston Nutt type vibe to him. That rah rah bullshite gets old when the coach doesn't meet win expectations.
