Unless I’m mistaken they have no jurisdiction to non-NCAA institution employees or players. See Reggie Bush’s situation. His lawyers will use that to negotiate a payout but IMO firing him was a way to keep him from being forced to testify. The only reason UT is trying to stiff him is purely financial.

I mean he does if he ever wants to coach in the NCAA again

When the number of violations come out, those saying Tennessee is doing this to stiff Pruitt will look silly. He really, really fricked up here.

No more than Tennessee. They went out of their way to invite the NZAA rectal exam. This was an internal investigation that the Chancellor wants to impetuously refer to as Level One to a national audience. She's an idiot if she thinks the NZAA gives brownie points for such candor.

Pruitt will be in the Witness Protection Program before it is over. He has been part of too many big programs and the NCAA will want to know the system. Only person that can save him is Emmett , but there are people at the NCAA that want to get anything on the SEC.

Nope. The NCAA was tipped off by another school. UT did not invite the NCAA despite what you hear or have been told.

What University in your life has ever gone out of their own way to frame the argument for the NCAA?
You mitigate the damage, you don't speculate on the worst-case scenario. This chancellor and whoever is advising her are NZAA tonedeaf.

When did the ncaa arrive?

Not only was that after the internal investigation began, UT isn’t in a strong enough position to warrant a rival ratting on them.

Imagine believing that a school needs to be good to get turned into the NCAA for cheating.
You can start an internal investigation as well as get turned into the NCAA. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.

What’s the benefit for a far superior program turning in an awful program which isn’t a threat? It simply doesn’t pass the sniff test.

You act like this is the first time a bad program has been investigated for cheating.

He only believes it because he read it somewhere. Dude doesn’t have the ability to form original thoughts or opinions.
UGA turned in Tennessee to the NCAA that leaked the complaint to Tennessee compliance. But DJ only believes what he reads on UGA boards.

Any team that starts landing top recruits warrants a rival team ratting on them. The teams at the top of the recruiting rankings are the most successful year in and year out.

did you ever consider that the finger-pointing games started at the "far superior program" in order to deflect and protect themselves?

When the NCAA investigates Tennessee, Pruitt absolutely has to speak to the NCAA if he ever wants to coach at that level again.
If he doesn't care about coaching again, then yes, he doesn't have to speak to them. They don't have subpoena power, but they do have eligibility power.
