I mean, it would absolutely be a massive blow to at least Jimbos time here and would be a massive blow to recruiting and thats pretty much exactly how things spiral and how we get a 20 year run with no conference championships and one major bowl appearance

So not “the literal definition of program killing”? This meltdown is on the backs of a loss to Arkansas, who didn’t win a conference game for two years and is now in the top 10 in the AP. It’s time for some folks to take some deep breaths

Well, Haynes King isn't out for the rest of the season. There's a good chance we get him back for the month of November. How much that helps? I'm not sure. But he definitely handles the pressure of GameDay a heck of a lot better than Calzada.

We will be better by the end of the year if King really is back for November. However, right now is brutal because we have a tough October with Calzada. I don't see many wins there unless things massively improve

Not a direct reply to anyone… but look - it sucks that we look absolutely pathetic on O. But let’s look at the positives (and I’m not a sunshine pusher0 but if Arky can do it with 3 stars -or watching Miami play tonight in a 1/2 empty stadium … we will be fine. Our recruiting is strong… that’s a strength of Jimbo. What we reed IMO is people not leaving early for the hope of the NFL. There are very few Von Miller’s who get to retire on their own volition. So the best thing is to stay… be a hero, help your team and your draft stock. Your longevity in the NFL (not for long) isn’t really going to be impacted by leaving ear;y as the average player is in for what 3-4 years. So stay in school and kick arse.
Super seniors can whip the crap out of most underclassmen. We need 4-5 year players.

How many "super seniors" did Leach have last night?

Obvious - QB play is atrocious. But higher recruiting ranked teams all lost yesterday… LSU, Florida and us. While O is a moron… I don’t think Mullen is a bad coach. We just have the worst possible scenario (terrible QB play and an inexperienced Oline). That 7-9 cowboys team in 1990 had the same line that won the super bowl. This group will get better and will be better next year.
I’m disappointed as hell… regardless.

I really think getting Connor W in here next year whether as QB1 or QB2 will be a game changer. We're not good enough at OL to not have a mobile QB. And, as mentioned. The line will get better. We're fine at RB, receiver is still a question mark, but we've got the talent to be better. DL will be fine, safety will be fine, and I think corner will be better with Harmon and Chapell getting reps and Jaylon being back next year. This year may be rough, but we really have a chance to bounce back. We've had key injuries at places without depth (OL, QB, CB).

Brauny said awhile back recruits don't worry as much about on the field stuff as fans do, obviously it's big to have on the field success but I don't think it'll crush our class
uhhh the kind of season we are looking at right now is the literal definition of program killing
Definitely not program killing. Yet. We lose to Bama 77-0 Style at Kyle? Ok, but I don't see that happening.
It's rarely as good or as bad as you think in the moment. Still a lot of talent on this team and football is a funny game. We don't have to beat Bama to salvage recruiting, we just need to not be embarrassed and show signs of life. If we actually compete that would be huge. Recruiting will be much more impacted by how we look at the end of the year once King gets back.
If we are still circling the drain that will be a problem. If we are showing improvement and King looks like the future while we end up with 8 wins and a Bowl win then we will take some hits but we should be fine. Recruits look at the team they will play for and not the team that is there right now.
This season is lost but the future is not. The program is also going to be fine, we still print money and that can fix a lot of problems.

Who was at the game tonight?

Not sure exactly. I know the #1 player on 247 2022 was there. I think it was a really stout list.
