Notre Dame held Bama to under 300 yards passing, something I know without even checking that no other team did this year

Probably, but in the end, whats done is done. We beat everyone on the schedule but Bama. We'll take our Orange Bowl and top 3 ranking into next year and make another run at yall.

Your opinion doesn’t matter, so no point.

I agree but to be fair, with no interconference play during the course of the season, we had no way of knowing the ACC was full of cupcakes.

Notre Dame vs UNC fully beat them by 2 scores like Aggay.

Tuff to say,

But all I gotta say is
Aggays lost to the best team they played by 30

And beat the worst team they faced by 5.
Nuff said.

Common opponents is what keeps me from agree with you. Notre Dame played Alabama closer (though neither played Bama close) than A&M did and Notre Dame was more dominant than A&M vs. North Carolina.

I might have agreed with you on selection day, but I don’t now.

Why?? Its not your opinion and if you felt like they should have been #4.... !!

But my opinion is they were where they should have been. Sure, they beat UNC but if they would have been #4 and played bama then it would have been just as embarrassing.

You posted this on another thread, so I will repeat the reply I posted there:

Bama: They were down by 24 (and had been for a while) until a garbage TD with less than a minute left.

UNC: They took the lead for good over half way through the 3rd quarter, and their final margin came with 1:20 left in the game.

How are these that much different than the A&M games?

To be fair, the UNC team played by A&M and the one played by Notre Dame were very different

Nah, OU would have been the better pick.

It took them until the final 6 minutes of the game to take back the lead against a UNC team that was absolutely destroyed by Notre Dame.

Notre Dame had the better resume and is likely the better team between the two.

Just because there were 3 teams clearly better than everyone else doesn't make A&M worthy of the 4th spot. IMO, right now A&M is probably the 7th or 8th best team in the country, and that might be generous.

Aggies are not playoff material.

No need to prove anything beyond what had already taken place.

And the A&M team in the OB was missing some key players on defense, including a CB that was replaced by player that has been torched all season long.

UNC was missing some serious skill player production, but when a team has 2 RB's with over 1,000 yards, at some point it's valid to wonder how much of that was the RB's and how much was the OL, especially when a 2021 Heisman front-runner can force you to drop players into coverage and keep the running lanes open.
