Schools that don't make playoffs and severly watering down bowl games.

Don't think it's gonna change til these guys have something to play for in the post season and will probably get worse.

I don't know if it will force a playoff expansion, but something needs to be done. It is getting to the point where these kids are even opting out of the major bowls, which is killing my interest in these bowl games.

It's certainly a cause for concern.

I do think this year is particularly bad simply because players have "COVID fatigue". The constant testing, the berating by whomever is handling contact tracing, sequestration, taking classes remotely, and on and on have made playing this season less fun. Another few weeks for a meaningless bowl game and a chance at injury just doesn't seem worth it to many...and I can't really blame them this year.

Quitters gonna quit. Don't give a damn about them because they're...quitters.

What happened? When I was young no one tolerated a quitter. It was one of the worst things you could do.

Saban told everyone this would happen. He opposed the playoff because it would make the other bowls meaningless. Morons said he was scared of a playoff.

Honestly if you’re a senior with any decent draft stock position is the risk even worth playing? I’d rather go to the senior bowl and use that as your combine vs these meaningless games. Bowl games should be looked at as JV games for younger players to get some experience.

"opt outs", better known as quitters should result in revocation of scholarship benefits and the individuals should be billed the full amount.

Cut the number of bowl games drastically. That will create interest

I would opt out of playing for a worthless team compared to Alabama too

Make better decisions next time on what school to go to. Worthless school (anyone but Alabama) or Alabama.

The long term picture for P5 football will have to include more playoff games. What motivation is there for an elite athlete on a team that didn’t make the playoffs to play in a bowl game? The risk of injury in a meaningless game is too high.
