We're still another week away from A&M vs Arkansas yet it is dominating the hearts and minds of pretty much everyone on the rant. Yet the classic rivalry of Alabama & Tennessee is apparently happening this weekend (4th Saturday, but counting is hard for gumps) and no one cares.

Nobody knew your little matchup had an offish name until this thread was penned.

Congrats on having a consistently competitive game with Arkansas

Only Bammers pretend it's a rivalry.

I had never even heard of it until we moved to the SEC. It must just be a small regional rivalry. Not something on a national scale like tOSU vs UM, Florida v Georgia, tu vs OU, UofSC v Clemson, Amry vs Navy.

It hasn’t been bigger since Fat Bert was tired and UT hired Fat Pruitt
But definitely better
But definitely better

Yep its a fake rivalry. Cant take a team that loses to Georgia State seriously

You're a State fan, you losers lost to us last year- the same season we lost to Georgia State

Southwest classic is easily the premier mid season rivalry game in the SEC

We could lose some more and make it more competitive I guess.
I prefer kicking the shite out of Tennessee while they are bloody, shirtless and stuck in a gutter.

You have to give the people of Alabama something to look forward to in life. They ain't got nuthin' left.

I thought that was Prairie View vs Grambling. Had to look it up and that is the State Fair Classic.

Only mediocre Texas A&M would hype a rivalry with perennial doormat Arkansas. That's as Aggie as it gets.

I dunno... nice beaches, fishing, lots to do and see. Plus there are new mountains in the state since we pretty much own eastern Tennessee...

Southwest Classic with Aggy & Arkansas is not even best rivalry game played in Dallas each season.
Alabama v Tennessee and Oklahoma v Texas is a much more compelling comparison with regards to a better rivalry.
Arkansas v Texas, too.

Truthfully I really enjoy this game. Hogs are my second favorite team in college football. I am giving them a little bit of a hard time in other threads but am happy to see they landed a coach that seems to fit.
If we can make this a home and home series on a permanent basis I will be happy. We spent the weekend in Fayetteville the last game we played there and had a great time on the strip watching games and drinking all day and then Hog fans tailgating were very welcoming. Class fans and city.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)
