What about the 2008 bama uga game makes you think something this stupid?

Nobody in the country was beating Bama that night. That team was primed to make a statement and UGA got the unfortunate draw. Don't forget Richt actually beat Saban in 2007 and almost beat one of Saban's best teams again in 2012. He also blew Saban out in 2004. Kirby is 0-3 with a blowout loss mixed in as well.

One of the best teams in the nation despite losing a few dozen richt first rounders.

So did ULM.

I’m also not gonna forget is losing the liberty bowl to UCF while not scoring a TD. Losing to a Florida team that didn’t throw a pass. Or falling below South Carolina in the East pecking order..all of which happened under Mark Richt.

2017 and 2018 were better than any richt team. 2002 was better than 2012 for richt.

No but it wasn't only bad,it was HISTORICALLY bad.One of the worst
in 50 years.

I'll take the '17 RB's as a group and Murray gets the
nod as the better QB.The 2017 defense was also a far better coached as a unit.

You're right, that 2018 team that got blown out in Baton Rouge, lost to Jalen Hurts and then lost again to Texas was epic. Maybe one of the best teams ever to play the game.

Richt apparently refused to recruit the trenches. You saw the aftermath of that with Miami's terrible OL last season.

It was better than any richt team, that’s for sure. You don’t know football very well. The mere mention of Texas proves that, even though you had already proven it with every other post.

Your hatred for Richt is astonishing. The man won you guys multiple SEC titles, beat Saban twice and almost a 3rd time. You are ignorant and foolish and blinded by your loyalty to a coach that has proven very little on the field through 5 years.

This thread itself starts with the premise that Smart has proven to be equal to Richts best years. We just needed to move on from the other part of Richts career..which was not as good.

These posts of mine are made without feeling and only emotionless football analysis. OTOH, you sure do seem seem to have some strong feeling of hate for smart considering your takes are so wrong.

Point is, Richt was good, but he wasn’t as good as Kirby. That is the reality that your hate won’t let you admit. See the first post of mine on page 1.

See, numbers don't lie. This is where some of you are blinded. Richt and Smart have essentially an identical record through their first 5 years at UGA. Richt won 2 SECC's in his first 5 years. At best you can say Kirby has been his equal...but there's no tangible, on the field results that support you saying he's been better than Richt was during his first 5 years. None at all.

My only theory as to why so many UGA fans have this take, is that they get off on the whole recruiting moral victory thing. Makes them feel like the champs, when in reality, they're in the same place they've always been. Always the bridesmaid and never the bride.

You have nothing but misleading and/or irrelevant numbers, and you lack the knowledge to understand why.

Uga has set its top 5 and top 10 consecutive streaks under Kirby, and they blow away richts.

Uga’s best 2 teams of this century are Kirby teams of 2017 and 2018.

Richt never beat a bowl opponent as good as ou 2017.

As for year 1, richt took over a more talented program.

Richt also had a W over Saban in his first 5 years at UGA.

It’s likely got a lot to do with beating our Rivals. Richt was 6-6 vs our 3 Rivals after 4 years. Kirby is 11-2.

Sometimes it’s who you beat.

Richt did a great during the first part of his career. Kirby has been as well. Both inherited very talented teams that were underachieving and elevated them quickly. Richt made bad decisions with coaches and roster management later in his career. Remains to be seen if Kirby can manage that part of a program better. The QB situation right now certainly isn’t a good sign.

Lol this delusional babble is first hand proof on why its so so unfortunate that Saban's success has filled these Bama idiots with false knowledge on what actually is going on in college football.

That 2008 Georgia team was one of the most overrated teams of all time, "no one was beating Bama that night" is just fricking hilarious and child-like speak from a Gump. Florida beat us by 40 points that year. fricking Georgia Tech beat us.

You gotta love that when Richt was here everyone shat on him and now he's gone and its so bad he's gone lol.

It was a year after his NC at LSU

Then, again, his first year of said deal at Bama

2004: UGA 45-16 @ Athens
2007: UGA 26-23 ot @ Tuscaloosa
