I agree. I was around when GT was in the SEC and left. Dodd and the techsters thought they were too big for the lowly SEC and left. They sent out feelers about getting back in about 10 years later and it never came up for discussion by the SEC.
GT brings NOTHING to the table.

LSU is 1-2 vs Mizzou
Should at least give them a chance to even the series before we leave

I personally have no objections to Missouri remaining in the SEC as long as they do something about that stadium. The field looks horrible. Even my 5 year old nephew noticed. He asked what was wrong with their grass? Ive read about all the excuses about mold. Well there is artificial turf that would look a lot better than that shabby looking stuff we are now seeing. I suspect all Missouri would have to do is make a few calls and a deal could be made. And all those people sitting on the grass or rocks in the end zone needs to go immediately. It’s so high school! This is the SEC not some middle school with limited resources. Use some of that SEC revenue to look like an real SEC team or move back where y’all came from. Missouri is making the SEC look bad

GT is less Southern than Mizzou, adds no markets the SEC doesn't already have, and left of their own will. It's said that Dooley wanted to allow GT back in but they declined. GT is comfortable with the ACC I'm sure

Don’t know where you are getting your info. Dooley never wanted Tech back in. And even if he had the UGA fans would have never stood for it.

Rumor about the 1992 realignment; I haven't looked into it so you're probably right.

Not only no, but frick no. They had their chance and those pussies bailed.
As a matter of fact, kick out MiZzzou and bring in NC State and/or VA Tech. Round out the SEC map and ditch those milquetoast carpet baggers at the same time.

Those two add nothing. Missouri is an AAU member and has two recent top five finishes in FB and decent basketball history

I like Miszou. I’m sure they’d prefer being in the West but they absolutely belong in the SEC. Maybe Auburn will eventually convince the SEC admins that they belong in the East. Then everybody will be happy. Right?

I've long thought the football program needed a new venue. That place is cursed.

Not that I want GT back but I'll take a brand (not GT) over a TV market any day
So you are willing to take your $45 mil pot split and reduce it to $40 mil to let GT in instead of Mizzou.

Any new SEC expansion will most likely be in the Charlotte/Raleigh and Wash DC/Richmond markets. Really not looking for that to happen though.

Do you think this proves any type
of point? He saw the potential and what the exposure of what a national TV audience could do for the SEC

WTF does it matter if they don't watch CFB?

We didn't get one extra penny of TV revenue from CBS when we brought Mizzou and A&M on board.
Using your logic we should take Missouri over a Oklahoma or Clemson. But the TV markets!!!!
OTA and cable "markets"are gonna be a thing of the past in 10 years anyway. The streaming big boys are gonna throw crazy money at all sports.

How about Dropping Auburn instead. Dumb OP

Great idea. Drop UF and AU. Bring in Ga Southern ( UF couldnt beat them even when they left 19 players at home in Statesboro) and Ga State ( No one will
miss AU and maybe UT could give a better showing against Ga State next time). Nice fans. A nice upgrade to the conference.
