Atlanta is as southern as it gets?! My Birmingham wife would STRONGLY disagree with that statement. In my experience, Georgia is most definitely very southern--EXCEPT Atlanta

This is correct. We've had so many yankees move in and stay in Atlanta that Atlanta is definitely NOT Southern.

Like it or not Mizzou brings in KC and StL markets. So if you bring in a team that does not expand your TV market then you just split the same pile of money more ways... aint happening.

And both St Louis and KC are bad markets for CFB viewership.
Not that I want GT back but I'll take a brand (not GT) over a TV market any day

Truth is all the yankee liberals that were running the show in Atlanta advised Tech they could be more outside of the SEC and at the same teach Coach Bryant a lesson. 60 years later they still suck and that isn't going to change.

Are you crazy? Tech would bring NOTHING to the SEC. Their obnoxious fan base can’t even come close to filling a 50,000 seat stadium. UGA outnumbers them in their stadium everytime we have to go to that dilapidated rat trap. Yes. There are rats! I personally saw one scurrying across the concourse a few years ago. Their bathrooms are positively medieval. Always afraid I’m either going to be mugged in there or catch something. It’s nasty. One third of their students are foreign and wouldnt know a football from a tennis ball, another third of the general student body are brainiacs from the NE ( you know smart Yankees) and spend their leisure time in the library. The other third are nerds - and a small percentage of that group actually atttend games. That small group are true champions. At least When it comes to whining. “We don’t get any respect.” “We ALWAYS get screwed by the refs.” “Our opponents all cheat while we are purer than snow.” Despite the NCAA probations handed down to Tech - some for lack of institutional control and academic fraud. Worst stadium in the South and worse fans found anywhere. Believe me no one wants to visit that dump. Their new coach is interesting though. Waffle House Wednesdays, water slides, coaches flashing gang signs, and painting 404 and ATL on anything that moves. He is a hoot and that outfit he wears is something else. Maybe he never heard that tight short sleeved high neck shirts and leggings are not a good look for a somewhat chubby middle age guy. He and Tech are good for a laugh but they are not even ACC competitive. Unless we want Vandy super lite without the class and manners they are not what the SEC needs. UGA and several other SEC members would never allow them back in anyway. They left the SEC years ago and will not be coming back. If the SEC ever expands we should look at NC or FSU. At least they are in the South and NC would bring in some big basketball money.
