I don’t know about him but I I’ll forget about it all in about 30 minutes.

didn't realize until the first replay, because it was so weird. I have never seen a spike after a fumbled snap, and I've been an AU fan for 33 years.

Doesn't matter.

A SEC ref should know if a qb turns and throws the ball behind himself its a backward pass and a live ball.

That is a simple call for a ref...regardless of the muffed snap.

Unless he has an unscheduled meeting with some people upset with his handling of the affair.

Yep. This is all that matters.

Either way, Auburn only won because the ref screwed up.

Regardless, the qb turned around and threw the ball backwards...SEC refs should know that is a live ball and not blow the damn whistle.

At the very least Auburn should have lost 8 yards instead of one yard and taking time off the clock favored Auburn.

Agree. SEC refs blow live balls dead all the time. They're terrible.

Had they not blown the whistle Shedrick Jackson for Auburn would have easily recovered the fumble and we would have had to kick from 8 yards back.

Maybe, and because Arkansas didn't get an extra point until their 4th score.

Not really your team thought it was a spike to kill the clock, Arkansas was going after the ball because the whistle wasn't blown after the ball was spiked.

You know it’s bad when their defense of the entire thing is basically “it was handled correctly because we fricked up the play so bad it couldn’t be fixed.“

Nice summation.

The definition of immediate is not the problem.

It was the complete screw up of blowing a game deciding play dead when it was still live.

What would it have hurt to hold off on blowing the whistle?

Any question and you let the play go on. You can always rule it was dead afterwards.

You still haven’t ever seen a spike after a fumbled snap because it was a backward pass at that point. A backward pass that should have remained a live ball and only should have been ruled grounding in the event that Auburn recovered.
