LSU fans - how do you grade Brennan after week 1!

Looked like he didn’t see a lot of wide open receivers and generally looked uncomfortable in the pocket. What did you see?

F!
He sucks, bench him. Freshman TJ Finley is way better. He will surprise people!

He needs to just sling it. It seemed like he was thinking too much and afraid to make a mistake, which led to mistakes. I’m interested to see how he improves.

Diddiedawg got cut from Pop Warner one day one. Cut him some slack.

I saw him double clutching quite a bit out there, seemed afraid to let it fly

You'd fit in well on the TRant

If the Oline was letting free blockers in through the A-gap, I wouldn’t be comfortable either.
He’s got some confidence issues, but the first game was not bad. Receivers dropped passes, o linemen missed assignments, Brennan held the ball too long. Those are things that can be fixed.
The defensive backs just couldn’t cut it. We missed depth and preparation. The lack of spring cut deep. Real deep.
Though the rant seems to think Brennan is worse than JJ in the 2011 championship game.

I’ll give him a C-
It wasn’t pretty. Had a few good throws here and there. Showed decent accuracy. Held the ball WAY too much. Looked scared to slang it around. Needs to be A LOT more decisive and confident in his decisions. Missed a bunch of open receivers

He looked like a scared dog. Beta male mentality won't cut it in this conference

The o line registered above average to good pff pass blocking grades across the board (they registered bad run blocking grades, and this is another issue). He had on average the most time to throw of any qb in the sec at 3.1 seconds per dropback. He can get better, but he was not good, he was indecisive and did not trust his arm or his receivers. The counting stats look better than past LSU qbs because the pace of the game was so different. We punted 7 times. There is no way to spin it other than he was bad and I hope he improves.

You would say the same thing after Finley sh!ts the bed. Look, I get it, he was not great; however, he did show some upside and was a tipped elbow, four drops, and a shitty pass away from four TD and like 450 + yards in his first start. I think there was a lot of rust on routes and timing, but hopefully this changes. Now as far as his competitive nature.... that is a whole new ball game that fits right in with your original comment. But he does have talent and that is undeniable. As far as Bo "Man2Man" Pelini, you win that argument.

Pretty accurate and has a good arm. Holds on to the ball entirely too long and definitely gets "deer in the headlights." O-line did him no favors and the WRs had a few drops.
Hopefully he gets his feet under him quickly and settles down. If not the Alabama game is going to get very, very ugly.

We're fricked. He has been here for 4 years and still looks completely lost.

I'd give him a C as well. He looked like a guy starting in his first game. He missed some coverages, some wide open receivers, and wasn't comfortable in the pocket. Tards are going nuts because he didn't pull a Burrow and bring us back for the win. Can't put a new starter in that situation and expect him to do it every time.
The line didn't help him though and his receivers had a lot of drops.
The bigger disappointment was the defense and the play calling on coverages.
I actually liked what I saw out of our line though.
Overall we will get better.

I give him a B-. 345 yards and 3 touchdowns is nothing to complain about but the interceptions and fear of being hit are. He needs to be fearless and just do what he does best.
The defense gets an F- for sure.
O Line gets a C-.
Receivers get a C+. They need to learn that when the ball is placed right in their fricking hands, it's okay to hold that ball.
In my opinion, Brennan was probably the best part of the team on Saturday.

tipped elbow
A tipped elbow that was his fricking fault. WR's wide arse open and he holds the ball too long all night. That one was the worst of all, but he did it all night. Stop using this as an excuse or a good thing that he almost had a TD.

WR's will do that when the damn ball is consistently late like it was all day Saturday. Now, the WR's need to work on their drops (what in the hell happened to 10,000 catches?), but blaming only the WR's and giving Brennan a pass is ludicrous.
