If he had had a spring maybe things would be different. Unfortunately he has had only the fall to practice due to the pandemic. If he's as good as you think he is, Young will eventually secure the job. So quit bitching/trolling.

I just happy at the depth we have on D.

Here is the official depth chart graphic (from Cecil Hurt):

Very surprised that Carl Tucker looks like a 3rd team TE. I thought he was going to be a superstar.

Based on what?

Your post is the only mention I've ever seen or heard of Tucker potentially being a superstar, but I've seen insiders say he'll be pretty good. He and all of the other backup TEs listed on the Depth Chart are likely to get meaningful playing time and contribute well. We don't have OJ Howard, but we are pretty solid and deep at TE:
quote:
TE -- Miller Forristall
Major Tennison OR Carl Tucker OR Jahleel Billingsley OR Cameron Latu

I expected waddle to be on KR but was shocked smitty is the second one of the pair.
Although weight wise Simth Plays bigger than he is.
I was expecting Metchie ,slade or sanders instead of risking both experience WR's.
Glad the kid Baker is second behind smitty on depth charts and should get to see some prime minutes in relief.

Guys like Bryce Young are here for 3 seasons. Why stunt his growth? Give him those game reps. Mac is an average guy, a dime a dozen.
I have no issue with Mac starting, but if Mac looks like hot garbage for 3 or 4 weeks in a row and they throw Bryce Young in there and he's immediately Tua 2.0, I'm going to be angry again.

Another Chart correction:

RB -- Najee Harris

Does anyone else feel like Deonte Brown has been around forever? Seems like he blocked for Yeldon or some shite for whatever reason.

Mac Jones, just ridiculous.

I think you anti Mac guys are taking crazy pills. Or are still stuck on 1 single play from the Auburn game.
I legitimately think Mac will play his way into being considered at least worth a second round pick this year. Imo, he is already arguably better than the kid Green Bay picked in the first round this year, Jordan Love.
Of course, Jordan Love shouldn't have been picked in the first 3 rounds.

I honestly don't think Shane Lee will take a meaningful snap again unless he drops a lot of weight.
Been telling my cousin since the 2019 signing day that with the LBers in that class that Shane Lee will likely transfer out. At Shane Lee's height he should weigh no more than 230 and he needs to work on being more explosive. The LB commitments we have and those we're still recruiting for the 2020 class make me believe more so that Shane Lee's days in Tuscaloosa are numbered.

Tucker had 31 receptions over 4 years.
I highly doubt Shane Lee transfers. I think this is a situation where he sits for year or two, gets into shape, and then comes out to a solid junior/senior year. He was recruited at 243 lbs, so it's not like we weren't aware he was a brickhouse and the mental game is there.
Ben Davis taking four years to finally get a starting shot and he's rotational is something. For a recruit rated .9995, that's wild.

I do too. I think he will play so well (and see the writing on the wall that Bryce is coming) that he will declare for the draft and be taken in the top 3 rounds.
He made 1 bad overthrow to a wide open Jerry Jeudy for the 1st pick 6 (the 2nd you could argue he should have ate the sack but it wasn’t his fault)but other than that was lights out.

I don't think Mac Jones is going to be running the same offense this time around. I think we are going to rely on a punishing ground attack and it may not have much to do with his skill set. I'm going to be shocked if teams have to break out their Dime packages to scheme our offensive attack beyond down and distance.
I was looking at Gruden's offense for the Raiders last night and how they set up Josh Jacobs in their rushing attack. They played out of the Pistol a lot and they ran downhill. Gruden is good at dink and dunking to his backs and tight ends and he wanted Ruggs badly to get his play-action and a deep threat going this season. A lot of old school in his concepts and he could still spread you out with his WRs when necessary. I thought they were the more physical team at the LOS than the Saints and I thought they wore them down in the second half with their ball control. Certainly shortened the game and Drew Bree's opportunities.
Personnel dictates identity as much as any scheme but Alabama could look a lot more like the Raiders than the Saints this season.

It's not that Shane Lee is bad but the last few years the State of Alabama has produced tall, athletic stud LBers after the state's linebacker recruits dipped for a few seasons and our linebacker recruiting dipped too. Guys like Bratton and Kennedy are our future at LB.

Inside linebackers have to chase and cover. They really need the ability to tackle in space. Downsizing is becoming a real thing. Speed, speed, speed, that is how you combat the spread.
