Time to leave sport hate out of this. That thing is barely moving and flooding is gonna be very bad. Oh, I know I’ll get downvotes for the fact I mentioned its killing the southern part of Alabama right now but we are all SEC.
We have all been there. I pray for those getting it as I do anywhere. It’s a cat 2 again right now but the bigger issue is that it’s barely moving. Like 2-3 MPH.
A lot of good people are going to lose everything. Think on that for a minute. A lot of them grew up in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Tennessee, , Arkansas etc and are living there work related and still love their teams.
They are going to lose a lot if not everything. Keep these people in your prayers.

My power went out about 3am, and have a few limbs down already. It’s starting to pick up though.

Make sure you can get up above any flooding. Put small items at elevated spots. This amount of rain sucks

Here in Santa Rosa Beach my back yard is flooded but I don’t expect it to be a problem. The wind has been steady at about 40mph with gust much higher. A few limbs down but still have power. West of here from Destin, Navarre, Pensecola and Gulf Shores are having a rough time. I’m hoping everyone gets through this safely.

Prayers for all you east of me. Dont drive across flooded rivers please. I watched a stream 2 feet deep (on the low river crossing. Had a drop off down current to 6') pick up a giant jcb forklift at a rig once. Carried the backyard hand down stream a couple hundred yards before he could get out and grab a tree. Fast moving water doesn't play

A slow Cat 2 can sometimes be as bad as a fast Cat 4. You don't get the houses being blown apart you get from the fast movers but you get insane flooding.
Our local church sponsors a rescue group and they just headed out with boats and supplies. Its going to be a horrible clean up down there.

Y'all be safe. Seriously! Sports crap talk aside. Prayers to you and your families.

God bless them. I lost everything in the flood of 2016, it sucks. Best bit of advice for after the storm. Do Not Take the SBA loan that the gov't. will try to force you to get. Take the FEMA money asap, but no SBA loan. They are loan sharks preying on victims of disasters.

Amen brother, thanks.
We might mess with each other, but we'll stand strong together when one of us is threatened.
Ya'll be safe everywhere down there, including Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida too.

Laura was a cat. 1 when it hit Northeast LA, and it caused a ton of damage. Praying everyone has good homeowner's insurance and doesn't get screwed by the insurance carrier like so many are in Louisiana.

Stay safe my southern family, you are all in my thoughts

One can never wish for these storms to hit someone else but thank God we(South Louisiana was spared and NOLA). With this storm(wind and rain) we would have been wiped out!
Stay safe!

I’m in Destin staying in a rental on the Bay with over 50 mph gust and over 15 inches of rain so far. Got a couple of friends over in Gulf Shores taking a beating.

We don’t have the “Cajun Navy “ here in central Mississippi who does God’s work. But we do have about 12 trucks and boats we call ourselves the “Mississippi Rescue Team” or MRT for short.
We were in Louisiana last time when Denham Springs etc got it bad. We’ll be in Alabama after this thing moves out bringing bottled water, gatorade, Tuna & Crackers, Chicken Salad & crackers, bread loaves, Spam, jars of peanuts, soft drinks, chips, and yes, bourbon, beer, cigs and wine.
People will rip that last part but when you lose everything your spirits need lifting. Also lanterns, batteries, charcoal and O2-Cool D battery fans. Tin foil , I could go on but we learned first time what people needed and how they find ways to do what with on hand.
